Patterson way too talent and dynamic for the "Ambling Alp"...

    Patterson TKO 11 Carnera

Canera could fight some, the fixed fight stuff was exaggerated, he had some good legit wins, like over Loughran. He did have big size advantage there though. Baer hit him with everything, plus Canera broke ankle early in bout, and showed guts trying to continue.

A fight with 30 knockdowns. Floyd picks himself up ten times to knockdown Carnera 20 times, ending via knockout of Carnera in the thirteenth. Patterson becomes the first man to get up out of the fifth row to win a title fight.

Are people forgetting Patterson's chin? Carnera was not a great puncher, but he hit hard enough to floor or KO patterson, some people are acting like Patterson could just run rings around a 6'6", 260 pound, 85 inch reach dude who had a decent jab. Who has Patterson beaten of that size or close to it for people to judge he would KO Carnera in the mid rounds?

What is all this dissing of Carnera's jaw, when Patterson was knocked down 7 times in the 3rd round v Johansson, and Carnera was dropped 11 times v Baer over the stretch of the fight when Baer was a bigger hitter?

Patterson as champ was dropped and shaken early by a man making his proffessional debut, but no one brings that up.

I like Patterson, he was a good Champion who never beat the best of his era or cleaned out his era.

Some critize Carnera's losses to Baer and Louis or the way he looked. SO.

How long would Patterson last against Shakey, Baer and Louis if he fought them?

Unless Primo got lucky, in perfect position like in the 2nd Sharkey fight and landed on Floyd like that, I don't see him decking Patterson, unless Floyd was off balance like he was against Roy Harris. I do see Carnera's great size being a stumbling block for Patterson in an ugly fight until he found Primo's "sweet spot" and a blizzard of punches would put the Italian down for an 8 count en route to a narrow 15 round decision. Carnera would try successfully at times to exploit his great size advantage, bvut after getting decked, would be less effective in an awkward, ugly amateurish looking fight.

I think Floyd has the skills to take a UD for the most part. Primo was not as bad as they make him. Not too many people had the misfortune of fighter both a prime Joe Louis and a fit and ready Max Baer in one career...Primo did well and even got up many times vs the 2, Primo had power but I think Floyd fights him like he did Bonavena, a little awkward because of the size but Floyd should be able to outbox Primo unless the Preem gets the bomb in
