Faber has a better chance to win this than Brown. Styles make fight But I pick Aldo by TKO to win this
Faber's healthy and looking good. This will be an obscene display of athleticism both ways. The longer it goes the more I favor Faber (probably on points). Aldo could certainly blast him out early though. It'd be interesting if we wound up with a situation where Faber winds up having Aldo's #, Aldo having Brown's, and Brown Faber's with the belt caught in a loop until a fourth man spoils the party.
In my 5 bold predictions I said Urijah gets his belt back and I aint going back now. IMO Urijah presents a tough problem for Aldo and that being that Urijah is actually as fast as Aldo and thing about Urijah is he isnt just fast handed he has fast kicks, elbows, he shoots incredible fast, his GNP is fast, his pace just never lets up. I dont need Urijah who has good Muay Thai skills will leave his legs to be destroyed like say Mike Brown did. Urijah IMO will use his superior grappling and get Aldo down and do vintage Urijah GNP and submissions. Aldo has a BJJ Blackbelt but you know what so did Assuncao and Curran, I honestly believe Faber is a level above Aldo. I think Aldos greatest chance is catching Urijah when Urijah gets wild and if anyone knows anything about taking chances and pulling off crazy moves its Jose Aldo. I cant begin to describe how exicted I am for this fight. Aldo is turning into a 145 pound Anderson Silva and to me Urijah is as well rounded right now as anyone in the WEC and he has that Liddell or Couture type quality hes just a star nothing more needs to be said when he fights people wanna see it. If this fight is held in Sacramento holy **** can you imagine that place ?
I think Faber takes it, I see him taking down Aldo out wrestling him and probably a ground and pound win.
I need more time to see how their training goes; I do know that if Faber tries to strike with Aldo using a similar style he did last night he will probably get knocked out. Yes he is fast but so is Aldo and superior technique will win that. On the other hand, Faber just went through an elite BJJ black belt on the ground like butter before getting the RNC. Faber would do really well to take some time and just sharpen up fundamentally; don't worry so much about athleticism, that will be there, just keep everything tight and technical until he gets it on the ground. On the ground I think Faber would be pretty dominant; he ripped Fernandes apart from the guard, has passed to dominant positions and subbed very good grapplers, and has about 100 guillotine d'arce/brabo choke variations.
i said this my self but it will never happen brown cant keep getting lucky against faber. that being said i think that faber is compitent enough on the feet and versitile enough that he will be able to get the fight to the mat early and wear aldo down and grind out a nip tuck decision
Faber has a tough chin and Im sure Aldo does too, thats why I can see this fight going the distance. Faber will need to out wrestle this guy to win. He's tough to get on the mat even though he has a blackbeat in BJJ, kinda strange but he's one hell of a muay thai boxer almost looks an authentic thai boxer with his flying double knee. Its funny both their coaches are muay thai but aldo tends to stick to that style more than faber. Its gonna end up being a battle of who has the best muay thai unless faber can somehow make it a ground game and go for the submit or win by take downs. This is why I have Aldo winning by decision, unless Faber can somehow smooth out his game with less gambles, more controlled power, and utlize the counter well with great defense,
And yet Brown couldn't even come remotely close to even getting him down? This should be a showcase for Aldo, as it seems he still has a few non-believers. I will be downright shocked if Faber manages a win in any way.
Brown got his leg ripped apart with all those vicious leg kicks. Faber has good MT to neutralize it, and is much more explosive than Brown to take Aldo down.
