Cotto has average handspeed, nothing out of this world. So keeping up with Cotto is not a big deal. He's just not impressive on any category, so what you see is what you get so he's average.

    .. Okay.

This is a C+ fighter that went

12 with a (probably) plastering Margarito (DOMINANT through 4 and a (disputed) broken hand (PROBABLY FROM THE PLASTER HITTING HIS HANDS ON HIS HIGH GUARD!))

Took out Zab Judah (ruled a headbutt but replay show right call was a punch and therfore KO)

And ceded a razor thin fight to Cotto

That means hes not as good as Judah, Malinaggi, or Collazo.

    FOR REAL??!!

    Cotto has average handspeed?

Cotto definitely has Very Good handspeed. Cotto kept up with Mosley and Judah if you want to recall.

You gonna tell me Mosley has average hand speed too?

if he can open up a bit then he may shock people, I am intrigued as I can't imagine this guy being seriously hurt.

Easy dude the C+ was a joke with that last guy that commented. Clottey sounds like he should be part that group to me: Judah, Malignaggi, Collazo, scratched the elite surface but never really made it there.

Clottey is a top 5 WW in my book...Pac has a hard challenge but a very winnable fight on March 13...He has a much better chance at beating Joshua than he does in Floyd...THIS FIGHT IS NOT A TECHNICAL MISMATCH HOWEVER....IF ANYTHING CLOTTEY WILL BE A MORE PHYSICAL FIGHT THAN FLOYD WOULD HAVE BUT PAC IS BETTER THAN HIM WHEN IT COMES TO SKILLS...STILL THE SIZE ADVANTAGE IS BIG FOR CLOTTEY

He's wrong. Plain and simple. No opinion. He's looking at the record but not watching the fights he lost. Clottey is better than every fighter he mentioned. He's not close to average. The other fighters he mentioned as scratching the elite surface are easily better than average too.

Mosley's handspeed and fluidity when throwing combinations has slowed down due to his age. So Cotto was facing a slower and aged Mosley. I think it would have been a different fight with Mosley in his prime. Not saying Cotto couldn't have pulled it out though. Cotto's jab was VERY effective so that kept Mosley resetting and in front of him so don't be fooled. When have you heard of a Cotto opponent complaining of being unable to handle Cotto's handspeed?

so I guess the best way to put it would be Clottey is just not elite.
