he subbed maynard on TUF as well

it doesnt matter who fights bj, edgar is up there for a shot, but he holds no advantage in any area over BJ, it would be a worse beating than diego got. i like edgar and he will get his shot, but he is too small imo

I agree thats why I really wish someone would really do something to earn this fight. Edgar is good in all areas but behind BJ in all and like you said hes small this guy should be at 145 id like to see him get one more big win so theres no doubt hes the top contender. Maynard just keeps grinding out decisions id love to see him smash Diaz so agian we actually see some reason to believe he could compete with BJ somewhat. Yup Diaz did sub Maynard on TUF which was another example of Nate just pulling one out his ass. Never sleep on a guy with Diaz's guard or Guillotine.

ya nate is dangerous off his back, but gray was pretty green back on tuf, he was basically just a wrestler, hes come a long way, gray may be the strongest LW, and his boxing and sub defense is improving, his only probably is what seems to be an inability to finish fights, which can hurt your chances if getting a shot at the title in the ufc

Edgar finally gets a title shot he deserves. I think penn would still whoop his azz but at least he gets his long awaited title shot.

Well he hasn't gotten one so far because there have been others who also had a very good claim to getting a shot and Edgar had recently lost to Maynard.

I think Edgar will get a shot soon, possibly even next, although Maynard might get one first.

It appears Edgar is getting his shot at 112. I thought Maynard was getting it for sure if he would have had a dominate fight. but having an SD against Diaz showed he's not ready yet. Edgar has looked great since his loss to Maynard so I don't have a prob with this fight.

Maynard really dominated the **** out of Edgar. They ought to toss Maynard vs Sherk against each other in the meantime. Maybe even Maynard vs Florian.

yea maynard vs sherk or florian would be nice. IF he can beat either of them then a fight with penn would look more interesting.

Im not thrilled about either Maynard or Edgar fighting BJ next, they are not at the level they should be to pose any sort of challange for BJ. BJ needs to move back up to welterweight and fight guys like Alves, Fitch and Koschek.

this is likely BJ's last fight at LW anyhow, I believe he's moving up to ww which should create alot of interesting fights. Not to mention that would put the LW title wide open for a bunch of guys to fight over.

yea i see this, they might want to "save" gray as a unbeaten to rise to the mantle and become the champ, so the champ isnt a bj left over.

or thats at least how the ufc hopes it turns out.

Edgar should beat Florian, Sanchez or Stephenson before he thinks about a title shot.

Edgar should fight Clay Guida just because no one forgets Clay Guida fights.

No UFC Lightweight actually wants a title shot.

Maynard isn't beating Sanchez and definitely isn't beating Florian :deal If BJ vacates, Kenny is the new champ
