Zab Judah on Khan

No he's not, he's a very good fighter who lacked the ability to take a shot too well. You don't take consecutive rounds off Mayweather and Cotto unless you have superb ability. He was well on his way to chinning Kostya Tsyzu before being pole-axed. Big mouth- yes, but still a great talent. I think he'd KO Khan.

 

Zab is a great fight no doubt, but he needs to understand. In that interview, he stated "I won my world champion belt in 2000, where was Khan?!" He was in middle school Zab...Another thing is that well. Zab is a Welterweight Fighter now, I doubt he can even get to 140 anymore. If he did, he'd be weight drained i think, which would only give Khan the advantage.

Lets face it Zab is no where near what he used to be I accept that, a shadow of his former shelf, but to all those chumps who have stated that he has never been more than a good boxer need to get their heads tested or simply they dont know much about the sport.
When he first burst on the scence this dude was the next big thing the guy was probably the most talented boxer at the time, he went through the 140 division with ease using he speed, ability and talent until he came a croper against a World Class Kosta. Kosta was eating every boxer alive with that right hand all his career. Kosta was at his peak and lets remember it was for the legitimate 140pound Undisputed title. A massive fight.
As all you recall Khan was Knocked the **** out by Bredis Prescott in even more devastating fashion than Judah was, they had to scrape the Khan lad of the ****ing floor. This was a non event, no ****ing World title. Back in the day Judah earned his World titlestrap, he moved up the ranks and beat the top contenders and then fought the very best at the time in Kosta aka animal. Where is Prescott now?? Licking his wounds from getting hammered by Kevin Mitchell. Then Khan gets handed a title shot against Kotelnik?? The boy has talent obviously but he would be ****ing nowhere withought Frank Warren pulling the strings and shifting him somehow to a World tile shot. Believe me Khan nuthuggers, Judah was a better prospect and had more talent in his young days than Khan has now. The real boxing heads who know the sport know where im coming from. In his young early days Judah was immense. Obviously his attitude let him down later on in his life and career but in his teens to early 20's the dude was electric.

I respect your opinion but lets face it he didnt have half as much hype than Khan. Khan's hype is sickening. As I said in his EARLY days he was immense and achieved a hell of alot pretty quickly (maybe too quick).

Lets face it later on in his career he did start to unravel and losing to Baldimir was unnaceptable. But losing to Mayweather, Kosta, Cotto, Clottey, Spinks aint too shameful.

My point is he was pretty darn good in his young days.

 

Zab has very few options at the minute. If he thinks Khan would be such a walk over he should take the fight and his belt to open up more opportunities for himself in the future.

Hahaha you for real? Deserve a fight with Judah? Surely the other way round, why the **** should Judah get a shot at any ranked fighter? The last meaningful fight he won was about 5 years ago, Judah is a punk who should shut the **** up.

 

I dont thin his chin is that bad, not the best but I dont think that has held him back look at some of the guys hes been in with who havent flattened him, his problem is he has lost the ability to fight solid for 12 rounds, he has faded in everyone of his big fights in the recent years, Mayweather-Cotto-Clottey-Baldomir

 

I think his lack of mental toughness and an unability to adapt mid-fight have been more of a problem than his chin.

Also, I don't see how winning one round convincingly means you're "well on (your) way" to winning a fight. Let's not forget Tszyu was winning the second round even before he made Zab dance.

Judah is a very talented fighter - he was just never really able to live up to the very high expectations bestowed on him at a young age.

As far as Khan goes - Judah has, in the past, always managed to get big fights regardless of wether he deserved them or not. He probably expects this trend to continue and is looking for a bigger name than Khan.

 

I'm predicting Ricky Hatton vs Judah for hatton's comeback fight!

 

Agree totally on all points made above. Zab Judah seemed to have nearly everything going into the Tszyu fight, apart from maybe granite chin (if I remember right he'd been down a couple of times in previous fights going into that one). He had a scintillating combination of speed and reflexes with genuine power. He was amazing to watch, and as far as I'm concerned he is the ONLY fighter thus far who was able to outbox Mayweather, albeit only for several rounds. Sure Castillo gave him overall a better fight, but Castillo managed to manhandle him rather than outbox him. Apart from Judah's less than stellar chin he isn't always mentally up for fights in my opinion and tends to beat himself.
