for that type of money, and against an innocent fighter, what pac offered should have been enough for floyd. pac was wrong too, both were stubborn. to say this all pacs false is wrong. pac was not obliged to take these tests.

WTF? Nevada rules state 8 oz gloves can be worn for fights 147 and under. Obviously you are the damn noob. Whoever wrote that article also obviously doesn't know their **** either. The old Nevada rule was reversed before Cotto vs Margarito. Those people who follow boxing know this. Nevada does NOT push for 147 lb fighters to wear 10 oz gloves anymore.

    No.

Pacquiao fought Cotto at 145lbs, not 147lbs.

De La Hoya is no longer a Welterweight. The skeleton of De La Hoya took a shellacking that night.

this got me thinking, could it be that floyd is actually taking ped's that he knows is undetectible even by blood sampling?which is why he is so eager to be tested.look at him,he gained more lbs than pac since 16 and is even more ripped..he uses numbing agents on his hands,he cheats on weigh-ins,so he has a history of being a cheat..just a thought ;)

The reason, as I see it, that Pacquiao is under fire right now is not necessarily how he has moved up in weight but rather how adamantly opposed to drug testing he is. Alarm bells sound when someone says that they don't want to be tested unless they know when the tests will be.

The weight at which the De La Hoya fight took place was at 147.. This was Oscar's stupidity

The Cotto fight was a welterweight fight, Cotto agreed to it, and stated afterwards 2 pounds did not affect him.. My post still stands

Us "so called fans" are tired of watching Floyd find a way out of every tough fight out there.

3 blood tests, 60 **** tests, and also willing to give hair samples all within a 2 month span isn't "stringent" enough now? Pac agreed to that, and that seems a bit more stringent than the one **** test after the fight which is required.

It has nothing to do with his weight gain, or his performance, or the fact that one of the mayweathers came out with the rumor...

It's because he and his camp are have been so ****ing adamantly opposed to the drug testing. So they defer to what Floyd-haters know best. They just attack the character of the person who suggests it. And these Anti-Floyd, or Pro-Pac folks never seem to be able to answer why he is so adamantly opposed to just taking the test, without making some excuse about wanting to spite Floyd....

I think the problem most have is that a fighter can take a **** test and pass even though he can be using PED's e.g Shane Mosley :deal

Also, why he won't test 14 days before fight night is a bit suspect.

I'd be happy with a blood test 1 week before fight night and one right after. Hair test all the better.

I think it's both his rapid growth within the last few years as an adult, and now mainly his refusal to take a blood tests 2 weeks before fight night, and his INCONSISTANT EXCUSES as to why.

If you are a multi-millionaire... the #1 pd 4 pd fighter in boxing, and always willing to take the tough fights. Are you going to allow yourself to be bullied just because your upcoming opponent wants some sort of mental edge? Think of this realistically. First of all... Pac sure as hell isn't opposed to drug testing. Not only is he drug tested for EVERY FIGHT, but he also agreed to give 3 blood tests, a **** tests EVERY DAY, and even give hair samples. That is WAY above and beyond what is needed. The man was willing to take over 60 drug tests including urine, blood, and hair throughout a 2 month span! I would love to see the guy who could hide everything under that sort of testing. First of all... Urine and Hair has shown to be just as good as blood testing. Blood testing only makes more sense when you have years and years of other blood samples to check against what the enzyme levels, ect... were previously. This isn't the amateurs... and obviously Nevada doesn't have this on record for them so blood testing in the manner that Floyd wanted to is pointless to begin with. It isn't going to show anything more than urine or hair would. Yet... Pac was still willing to give 3 blood tests anyways including one in the locker room directly after the fight.

Floyd obviously didn't want this fight to happen... or the the numerous tests above and beyond what is required would have been enough for him. This is a simple matter of Floyd trying to bully Pac and get a mental edge... and Pac finally drew the line well beyond where he needed to. Floyd obviously still didn't feel "safe" enough... as he obviously feels pretty timid about getting into the ring against Pac... so he made sure that he would keep requesting nonsense until the fight couldn't be made. Of course... the entire time he insists that he would beat Pac "easily".:-( I guess he just didn't want that 30-40 million dollars for that easy work.

The only idiots who say that testing afterwars is the same, are those who can't get a true grasp on the risk these fighters put themselves under when the fight...

It's like saying.. We should check the handwraps after they fight, and if they are plastered, then we will be able to take away the victory...

These are Pac's weight on fight night:

    11/18/2006 144 lbs vs Morales
    03/15/2008 145 lbs vs Marquez
    06/28/2008 147 lbs vs Diaz
12/06/2008 148.5 lbs vs De la hoya
    05/02/2009 148 lbs vs Hatton
    11/14/2009 149 lbs vs Cotto

He gained 5 pounds in 3 years. He'd probably weigh 150 vs 170 lb Clottey.

Shane Mosley did that at a time SEVERAL YEARS AGO... before NSAC tested for that type of drug. They do now. The ONLY thing that hasn't been detected in a urine test is HGH, which ALSO hasn't been detected in a blood test. So... like I said... pointless.
