How can anyone say that Hopkins is the best LHW?

15 years younger. In answer to your question - Yes, he only drew with Mercado 15 years ago. But your right not many will be doing it at 45, and he is a skilled fighter, but it dosent change the fact that as a LHW he has only fought one genuine name at LHW (the main man at the time admittedly) and that was in 06.
Definately a hall of fame fighter though.

The same bloke that ducked Danny Green.

Best LHW, I dont think so.

BHOP should retire instead of milking his fans.

I can only think of two reasons why B-hops might do this.

    1. Revenge
    2. Money

Or maybe both. If there's too much of an outcry I think the fight might mysteriously fall apart.

Hopkins isn't the number one light heavyweight and he knows it. He has done nothing at light heavy since he beat Tarver. He is simply picking fights he knows he can win while earning good money. Nothing wrong with that as long as he doesn't shoot his mouth off and claim he is number 1 when it's obvious that Dawson has surpassed him.

Bernard is in a whole different boxing world because of his age. He would not go the normal route where he boxes people in the division.

He is rated pound-for-pound because that list is for special boxers, i.e. Old yet effective against young fighters (lighter than him).

They won't match him with Dawson because bhop is too old. people would want him to balance it out with someone like Pavlik who is great at middleweight. People favored Pavlik because of his opponent's age. People let bHop get away with some 'veteran moves' because of his age. I think fighting equally old RJJ is more meaningful than bHop fighting another up-and-commer fighting out of his weightclass.

    I'd say it's a great good-bye fight.

Once again, a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE flaw in the Ring belts becomes clear, no matter how much some people want to bow down to the Ring, and scrap the ABC's.

Hopkins can fight little guys and old men until he's 70, and still be the Ring champ.

Dawson is the man at 175.

He's been avoided by BHop, Calzague and Roy.

Nothing in Dawson tells me he beats Hopkins even now. B-Hop was much more convincing against a better version of Tarver. And Chad also got one gift against a 40 years old fighter, who isn't half the fighter Hopkins is (with all due respect). B-Hop still beats him but he won't get the decision against the HBO guy, like in Taylor case, so he is reluctant to fight him.

Explain why Pascal should be currently ranked higher at LHW than, say, Tarver or Johnson.
