Since age 11... that makes it about 12 years now. Notice that the noobs who do nothing but this :fight all day here aren't participating in this thread.
long time, still remember sneaking an AM radio into my bedroom listening to rd by rd recap of Ali vs Frazier 1.Think I was 11 ,my old man hated Ali for dodging the draft.Probably the first big argument between me & him as we`d been watching fights together already for a few years. He heard the radio & came in & listened with me.Kinda cool.
Since I was like 7 watching PPV fights with my dad. So like 13-15 years.. I remember watching JCC, Barrera, Morales, Trinidad, De La Hoya, vargas all when they were in their prime and boxing had great fights...
First fight i ever saw was Hagler vs Hearns. I been hooked ever since, even if boxing threats is fans like ****.
It doesn't threaten anything, it's like every other sport, it has its bad days and good ones. Boxing is like a season, you get 2 months packed with major fights then 5 months of nothing but one or two big fights in between and the rest contenders rising on local TV. It's a sport and can be very random, it's not scripted for certain stuff to be booked already or guaranteed to happen.
i remember being a lil kid 6 yrs old may be 7 my dad and my uncles and all their friends watching the big fights of the early 80 the room would be full of smoke they would be yelling it was total chaos but it was good times. i knew then that boxing was my favorite sport i started boxing a few yrs later had a little amateure career but i always kept up with the sport.
around the time Barrera beat Hamed and Hopkins beat Tito. I realised I was a total diehard fan when i was sitting at my desk on the edge of my seat listening to Hopkins vs Howard Eastman on BBC internet radio.
