Hopkins vs Dawson - Who takes it?

Dawson would beat him. Too fast and too versatile.

Hopkins would've ****ed him up in his prime though. Hopkins, even at this old age, can still beat good fighters.. like Pavlik.. but Pavlik is a bit predictable/one-dimensional (sorry Kelly fans it's true). Dawson would outwork Hopkins easily right now

It's the only big fight at 175 that makes sense, but Hopkins hasn't even given Dawson the time of day.. because he knows what will happen...

 

Ill take hopkins right now. He understands how to keep a southpaw off balance. Ive watched dawsons last 4 fights and he doesnt impress me. Hes like paul williams. He gets alot of credit for punching air. Id take hopkins ud.

 

Williams is all offense with a limited defense, Dawson is the exact opposite.

at this point probably Dawson, but by razor thin decision. even at 175 Hopkins can pop and floor Dawson and will make Dawson pay for mistakes he makes. Dawson just too active and Hopkins would have to knock him out which is unlikely. knock Dawson down, but no way a ko win

 

Hopkins wins it for me. Dawson hasn't looked too impressive lately and gets too much credit for what essentially amounts to some pretty average performances. I don't believe Dawson could cope with Hopkins literally tying him in knots let alone hurt him.

Dawson. I think he wouldve always beaten Hopkins. Whenever Hopkins has fought a good fast, 2 handed fighter his own size he has lost ie Jones, Taylor twice and Calzaghe. Hopkins is a hall of fame fighter who would have his moments but he would lose a decision.

 

I think that Bhop would outbox him. Dawson just doesnt impress me all that much.
I could see a split dec. going Dawsons way, just to get Bhop out of the game.

Dawson, theres some big reasons why Hopkins wont fight him.

 

High Risk, Low Reward.

It's not a big money fight, Jones jr. fight would outsell it any day of the week.
