Would this have been a "fair" compromise in the Mayweather/Pacquiao Saga?

I know this "dead horse" has been kicked around for the last couple of weeks, but I've yet to learn of anyone put forth a compromise like the one I'm proposing. Let me first admit that I'm a Pacquiao fan and in no way will I let my disdain for the Mayweather's distort what I think "fair" is.

Let's do a short review of the back and forth over testing. The Mayweather's and GBP requested Olympic Style Drug testing to be administered by USADA. Pacquiao and Top Rank countered by agreeing to the extra drug tests, but to be done by another testing facility and not under the Olympic protocols. There was to be unlimited urine tests, there was also to be 3 blood tests; one in January, another 30 days before the fight and then one right after the fight. After some back and forth the Mayweather camp relented and if what was to be reported after the mediation attempt true, they wanted the last blood draw to be taken 14 days before the fight instead of the 24 days countered by Arum. Please excuse me if I left some things out, but I did say a short review.

Now, this is where I think a compromise could have been hammered out. I suggest that the last blood draw be the 21st day. After that BOTH fighters would be sequestered in a "clean" location to continue their training. Security would be handled by a firm that both parties agree to. The firm would first certify that the locations have been searched thoroughly. Second, anything the fighter's ingest must be prepared a neutral party vetted by security, this would include all the food, supplements and drinks. Thirdly, anyone having contact with each fighter must be searched before and after they visit; all the while urine testing will still be administered. Finally, once the training days are over, security would do a final check of the location and do a final accounting of the fighters time and who visited them while training.

I think that Pacquiao shouldn't have agreed to more than what was required by the Nevada Boxing Commission, but he did believe that drawing blood 24 days was far enough the fight not to be detrimental, another 3 days wouldn't be unreasonable. On the other hand, having both fighters under constant surveillance, after the last blood test and before the fight, should allay Mayweather's fear that Pacquiao was using PED's.

So there is my two cents for what it's worth. What do you guys think??? :smoke

 

Fair enough, but I did state that in the beginning of the post it was a "dead horse". So to post that you checked after reading "testing" is laughable to me...just don't post anything and leave :deal

 

I know I'm with you. I don't think that Mayweather wants to fight anyone that poses a real threat to his "0". But if he wanted the fight I don't think this compromise would be that unreasonable that he couldn't agree to it. :hi:
