Hatton would win. He was a better fighter with more tools and talent.

Quicker of hand, he'll beat Ward to the punch. If Hatton has trouble up close and gets hurt to the body, then he'll box him from the outside like he did against Tackie, and also the later rounds against Urango. Use his MUCH quicker feet and get the better of a slower paced boxing match. Hatton couldn't do this against Pacquiao & Mayweather, who would shred Hatton from the outside with their quicker and more accurate shots. But against Ward? Different story.

    Hatton by clear UD.

    Hatton sux.
Ward takes this one. After Hatton takes a body shot from Ward he would clinch all night and lose a boring decision.

If this had ever happened, it wouldn't have been a war, it would have been trench warfare.

look, micky is in my top 5 all time favorite fighters..... he is the ultimate warrior, and is about as badass as you can get.

However, i think (it seems at least, to me) that too many people are falling into a nastalgia mode and not judging this fight properly.

Realistically, if you take Hatton at his best, vs Ward at his best, IMO Hatton is a level higher (more badass? no... more exciting? no.... more effective over 12 rounds? IMHO, yes)

This is no diss on my boy, but id expect Hatton to smother when he needs to, box when he needs to, and do enough to capture a decision. I think Hatton gets extremely underrated, and i think at his best he would have the abilities to withstand Ward and outbox him... with Ward coming on strong towards the mid rounds and really giving Hatton hell through the last half of the fight, where i think he wins most of his rounds.

    8 rounds to 4
    Hatton UD

Id be rooting for Ward to do a number on him though lol

It would be a close fight. I'm favoring Hatton a bit. Ward went 1 win and 2 losses to Gatti, and Hatton might have the advantage overall with Gatti as a comparison. Hatton would have frustrated Gatti. The styles of Hatton and Ward make it interesting, and hard to decide.
