if the fight with mosley goes through

its all hype in my eyes and blame a bit on the fighter and promoters, the money has to be right for everyone, bottom line. but lets face it mayweather does NOT give a spectacular fight, he gives a good boxing match. i want to see fights, toe to toe. a knockout artist like pacman,tyson, chavez, ofcourse i am speaking of the greats and maywether needs to step up to fall in that category for the history books, now lets not under estimate SSM, experience goes a long way. look at hopkins as an example. I want to see a fight already and the big shots need to drop there pants make it happen.

 

Of course, because this is just one fight towards erasing his cherrypicking ways since who knows when. If he manages to summon enough courage to actually get in the ring with Shane, he'd have earned my respect. But I really believe Mosley will knock him out. If Floyd wins, it'd be a surprise and I will give him his due props for sure.

I hope if that happens, he will take on the rest of the top welterweights.

 

No matter what, people will find a route to hate Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He can knockout Shane, destroy Manny and move up to Middle Weight BRUTALLY knockout Kelly Pavilik take 2 years off, come back then fight Chad Dawson at Light Heavyweight, win a close decion and unify the Heavy weight belt while retiring undefeated yet people will still say "He should have fought Cotto and Margarito" or "He was only that good because he was fast"

 

Standing toe to toe does not make you a "great" boxer. Muhammad Ali only stood toe to toe when he had to. He was "great". What about Pernell Whitaker and Roy Jones? They did not stand toe to toe. They are both great. If he fights any different, he won't be Floyd Mayweather. Why sit there, get beaten up and possibly lose to make the fight more exciting? Not a smart move.

 

to me it makes absolutely little sense to say floyd ducked anyone. Who was he supposed to be fighting at the time? Judah was still the champ at 147 even though he lost to baldomir. Mayweather beat Judah, then ppl said "oh he didn't fight the real champ" and then he beat baldomir, then the mega fight with Oscar. Who in their right mind would pass that up, to fight up and coming cotto or margarito, and little known williams? Hatton who talked much **** to mayweather, had many of the same ppl who look at him as garbage now thinking he could beat floyd. Remeber that ridiculous Harold letterman card?He was also an extremely popular draw and was undefeated, and was on the p4p list. And it wasn't until after he outclassed and knocked hatton out that ppl said "oh it was another easy fight. "

If it happens, Shane would be the 3rd consecutive person Floyd has fought on the top 10 p4p. With Manny being the 4th if they ever get their **** together. Who else can say they've done that? And everyone of his last 5 fights were against a champion or high ranked pound 4 pound fighter of some sort.

And ppl bring Paul williams name up like he's just the ****. He's just a big tall guy who fights below his weight class, and throws a million punches. I liken Paul's style to a guy with a machine gun who closes his eyes and sprays till everything is dead. No skill. And btw, who has he fought?? an old verno phillips and an old winky? He went life and death with martinez and if it wasn't for the victory over margarito whom i think Clottey would've demolished had his hands not broke during the fight, nobody would know who the **** he is. he should be the guy you all say is picking on smaller fighters his lanky ass should be fighting at 160.

You all just hate floyd cause he doesn't appear to be humble in the public eye. And you want to see somebody shut him up. But haters buy tickets too lol. Floyd knows what he's doing Some of you would love to see his career end up like the once great roy jones' ... But its not going to happen.

 

Floyd should have fought Mosley sometime between 2002 and 2005...Mosley is past his prime now unfortunately...still will be a good fight though....Floyd UD

 

I doubt if Mosely will agree to throw the fight, but you never know.

Mosely/Void fight has not been signed. Void still has diarrhea!

 

People will always talk their trash, but Floyd is taking on the best available competition in Mosley. There is no room for legitimate complaint.

 

I can't be bothered to look it up because I hate talking about Floyd and my post was uncharacteristically long just because for some reason i was in the mood to rant. But I read stuff about this as recently as this morning in one of the other threads. Margarito had to kill himself to make weight and he had been getting his ass kicked in sparring for around 2-3 weeks leading up to the fight. If you want to ignore that, fine, if some idiot told me something like that without any sources I probably would too. But if you're interested do some research on it; it's out there.

 

Also, Margo is beyond durable. I think in or out of shape he still takes those punches.

 

Margarito did not train for the fight with Mosely. Even Emanuel Steward said it before the fight! I got back from the Mojave Desert too late to bet on Mosely, if I had I would have made some really good money.

 

Of course he can. We believe he has the skills to do it. The question is why didn't he? If he can school Pacquiao why demand an unprecedented drug test deal breaker?


This is the problem with Floyd. He looks good on paper but until he fights them inside the ring it means nothing.
