Just searching the net for info on andy and cant find anything? i hope he takes on a top 10 fighter this year to to put himself in contention again. i dont see why he is waiting as he didnt receive any cuts against belghecham in his last bout which he completely outclassed the french man for 8 rounds until he was mildly stunned in the last 10 seconds of the 10th , but was smart enough to hold on. any news or rumours on his next opponent would be appreciated.:happy
Andy Lee should fight David Lopez in the USA. After David beat Andy's ass for 12 rounds, maybe he could get a couple good pay days out of his win.
David lopez is not ranked by any belt so a fight against him would be worthless in the grand scheme of things, im talking top 10 ranked opponents here.
Lopez is ranked like 4 or 5 at jnrmiddle by at least one org..if he chooses to come back at middle he will slot somewhere in the top 10. He is a worthwhile opponent...but he isnt worth the risk. Andy would probably end up taking a beating in this one, even if he somehow won..it would be a phyrric victory.
Macklin verus Pirog is on in april for the euro crown,It is also i believe being set up as a world title eliminator,Its my undestanding that whoever wins this fight has to vacate the crown to pursue the world title,This would leave the Eurpean crown vacant and Andy in a good position to fight for it.
I just checked the EBU rankings and andy is ranked behind barker and moore so he aint getting a mandatory shot at the EBU either, he was hoping on matthew macklin giving him a voluntary but macklin is tied up with pirog and world title shots so andy can forget that . Andy really needs to beat someone worthwhile in 2010 if he wants to move his career forward.
Has he done anything other than talk junk about how he's undisputed undefeated sparring legend in Kronk?
Whole lot of unnecessary hate for Andy Lee. If you're a "purist", you should love his overall skill set (he's a lot more talented than people seem to want to acknowledge) and if you're a "fight fan", you should love his all out action packed fights. Outside of Emmanuel Steward trying to rush him through the MW division, I don't get the hate for Lee.
David Lopez is ranked #7 by Ring Magazine, and he would beat Andy Lee up, take his lunch money, his girl freind, his house, his car, and his soul.
Andy does need to step up in competition in 2010. He's only sort of been threading water for the last year and it's not helping him to improve like he needs to. Not convinced that Steward is the best trainer for him either.
