Certain fighters simply have styles and/or physical attributes suited to fighting at higher weights. Not saying Napoles didn't, or couldn't have done very well in today's MW division were he to move up for example, but I don't see any fighter Welterweight or under beating Monzon at the weight, and that includes Walker.

Agreed. And just how often do we get to see great fighters just taken apart in there? I love that type of fighter with that rare ability to take apart top flight opposition and it's rare to see & almost effortless the way they do it. The problem is those type victories don't stand the test of time all that well because they end up as a mismatch & under appreciated result.

Joe Naps has no bidness being in with Monzon in '74 at middleweight........ Monzon was huge, while Naps was tiny...... Monzon mainly used his height, reach and strength to hammer Naps into a mid-rd TKO defeat........ Dundee pulled the plug.... Good call.....

Love Monzon, but I think skillwise Napoles was a little better and slicker. But yeah, the Size advantage, and Monzon's godly discipline and smarts was just too much...
