:yikes that was awesome. I havent been paying much attention to the 122/126 weights. Heard the name a million times of course but I havent been watching the fights. That was really impressive and exciting, I will have to acquire some of these guys fights and check them out.

I dunno if he actually connected in that last gif, but I love it. I remember seeing that moment by chance ages ago, and nodding in respect. To even attempt a sort of uppercut-on-the-move like that is nuts...very rare to see anyone try it. I think the last time I saw it done was with Hamed, but even he didn't try to do it while sliding around and behind the opponent. Pretty cool.

great call on Dawson, he's incredibly fluid. His combinations are a beauty especially to the body

No, it just shows that he's glass jawed hype-job who got exposed before he even made it to the top level. Gamboa is far better, and would've absolutely pasted Linares had they met. A fight with JuanMa should provide some awesome fireworks, though. Gamboa by late TKO.

Yuri is fluid when he's landing....he looked pretty average a puncher againsnt Garcia because he was too wild, but yes the guy can put 4 punches together like few others

Never said he wouldn't. More fluid doesn't necessarily mean a better fighter, I would make Gamboa a huge favorite in that fight as well. Cory Spinks is fluid as hell too, but that doesn't make him the best Jr. MW in the world.

Probably not the most fluid bt he has great speed and good combination punching.

Amazing offence , does seem a little bit wide open though.

then again if you are hitting like that defence is likely to take a back seat

    hmm says . . .

i'll probably won't say the most fluid but he has good speed and accuracy. I'm more impressed on how he's able to untie from his opponent and keep going...

I agree with you, but do you know why Gamboa does all does crazy stuff in the ring? He is Cuban and not just any Cuban fighter he is a " Cuban jewel ". I really believe that many Cuban boxers back in Cuba have and do all these kinds of shots but many of you simply don't know them as 95% of them never manage to defect!

If any one of you ever saw the great Cuban middleweight " Ariel Hernandez Azcuy " you will know what I am talking about! That was another " Cuban jewel " that unfortunately never defected, he would had " teared through the middleweights just like Gamboa is doing in the featherweights ".

For a very long time, the Cubans have been the " hidden jewels " that only have shined in the amateurs as they have been " banned " from professional sports since 1959. If you have followed Cuban amateur boxing you will also have known incredible boxers like Aldama, Espinosa, Ariel hernandez, Juan Sierra, Carrion, Savon, Stevenson, etc etc...

Cuba has lost at least 70 or 80 World professional Champs simply because of not competing in the pros. That "wow" factor that Gamboa gives us ( heck even for me and I am Cuban ) many Cubans would have also provided if given the opportunity.

I really believe in my heart that Gamboa will take " Cuban boxing " to a whole new level never seen before! He will even make Joel Casamayor look like an " average and ordinary " Champion. Yuriorkis is simply a " phenom " with devastating speed, power, deadly combos and unparalelled amateur accomplishments. Add to that that he has in his corner with him his former Cuban amateur coach Ismael Salas who has been working with Yuriorkis since early childhood and you have the perfect ingredient for a future #1 P4P fighter of the World...

Yuriorkis is the next great boxing star, even Pacquiao cannot be compared to him. It's a damm shame that he defected at age 26 and not 21 or 22 but well it's like they say, " it's better late than nothing " and Gamboa has at least 7 good solid years ahead of him.

JuanMa Lopez does'nt stand a living chance of beating Gamboa...

Yuriorkis can possibly be the best featherweight that has ever lived...
