I'd take Mosley in both those scenarios.

Shane was an animal at 135 - he combined great speed with genuine ko power. Although his competition level wasn't great, he destroyed his opponents and looked spectacular doing it.

Floyd was the best fighter I've ever seen at 130 but I was never really impressed with him at 135. He just didn't look the same fighter to me. His struggles with Castillo and Augustus and his performance against N'Dou make it very hard for me to pick him over any great Lightweight in a mythical fight.

At 147 Floyd is still a defensive genius but he doesn't throw many punches and certainly doesn't let go with the sort of combinations he did at 130 and 140. The Mosley of the first Oscar fight had speed to match Floyd and was much better offensively - there's no doubt in my mind he would hit Floyd more often than he's ever been hit before. Since we've never seen Floyd in the kind of trouble I think this fight would put him in, I don't know how he'd react. If he goes into a defensive shell, I'm sure he'd last the distance without too much trouble. If he decides to go for broke and push for a ko, or at least tries to dominate the late rounds clearly, I don't think Shane stopping him is out of the question.

I should say that I'd favour Floyd to win if they fought now, or any time post-Vargas.

problem with Floyd vs. Mosley is that Mosley was more experienced then, but not as much as now. Shane has fought the best in the last few years and Floyd has not, so Shane's experience level against top guys has gone up and his toughness against the top guys is proven. I think at this point his experience level is much more than Floyd.

Floyd wasn't all that at 135 in terms of performances

As expected, a pretty close vote so far.

It would be good if someone who voted for Floyd to win at both weights explained how they think the welterweight Floyd would beat the Shane Mosley of the first Oscar De la Hoya fight.

    Anyone?
