Thought on possible DIAZ-PACMAN fight

Juan Diaz's advantages in strength and size will be a factor. Manny has the edge in speed and power, but as he continues to move up, his advantages in speed and power will be less and less apparent. I think Pacquiao would be coming forward, but Juan would match him shot for shot. He would rough Pacquiao up on the inside and dig to the body. I think his workrate would be better at 135 and he would be the more active fighter.

Pacman needs to lay off the cerveza and loose women, and keep his weight down. He is not a 135 pounder, and I believe Diaz would make that very clear.

Pac actually has the style to beat Diaz, just not the size.

 

Pacman is out of his league at 135 against Baby Bull.
The tank-like Diaz started his pro career at 140.

From 2000-2005 Manny fought at 122 -126 and was at flyweight before that.
Just as Guzman's power faded significantly as he moved up -- so will Pacman's.

Manny's best shot would be to try to stay on the outside and outbox Diaz, but, come on, how long would that last?
I don't think Freddie Roach will allow this fight to happen. He knows his fighter too well.

At lightweight, I think they'd pick the rising box office draw Katsidis instead.
He's tailor-made for a quick southpaw like Manny. Plus, he's got no defense, has a suspect chin and comes in wide. Also, his record has been padded by weak opposition.

Arum and Roach will steer PacMan clear of the Baby Bull. Just watch.

 

don't underestimate pac too much. time and again he has shown his fighting heart and relentless determination in fights he was the decided underdog. here is another chance for him to prove that.

 

yep. just imagine if pac times that straight left or even the right hook when juan is coming in... pac does have a chance here.

 

Other people made similiar reasonable-sounding arguments as to why Julio Diaz would beat Juan Diaz.

His first test was against the Mongolian Lakva Sim who gave him a good fight but came up just short due to his lack of punching power. Diaz' handlers have been carefully matching him against fighters who posed minimal threat and Freitas is a good example, although he had power, he was onthe downside of his career and was semi-retired. Once freitas took a few shots in the corner, he decided to flat out quit, his heart wasn't in it and he beat himself as much as diaz did. That was a good win but I hardly see that as a real test.

The Kidd fought a prime CAStillo ,who happens to be alot stronger than Juan, and gave him as much as he took until his swollen eye hindered his vision and forced the ref to save him. The Kidd's power is underrated and so is his boxing skills and bodypunching. I know that he spars with Antonio and often gets the better of him on the inside. Juan Diaz comes forward with a ton of punches but he also has a bad habit of exposing himself on his way in and this is where Julio can capitalize with his trademark uppercuts. The taciticans and power punchers are the ones to give Julio the fits but Juan Diaz is neither. Julio Diaz has never faced a relentless volume puncher like JUan Diaz but I believe that he'll land the more damaging blows in between Juan's meaningless volume punches and really hurt him.

The Kidd has been wronged before so he's coming with guns blazing. Juan Diaz is in some deep ****.

Is it me or did Pac lose some pop in his shots against MAB? Of course, MAB didn't give him a chance for Pac to let loose on him but I didn't see MAB in any serious damage compared to his first fight.

If I were Pac, I'd move up to 135 and fight David Diaz. If he doesn't Knock his butt down, move back down to 130.

Going up in weight to fight the most dangerous fighter at 135 is utter suicide for a guy like Pac. Money and glory would be there and there wouldn't be any shame in losing to Baby Bull. Its just how badly beaten will Pac lose to the bigger guy is the question and its what all the blood thirsty fans want who are tired of Pac beating up mexican old legends or drawing with them.

Seriously, F it..go for glory Pac. In the end, his promoters will not let their cash cow be destroyed in brutal fashion. They are going to milk his prime just like how PBF is being used.

Juan can't easly win against Pac.Pac is freakin hard to beat.

 

just proves that mab still had a good chin compared to erik and jmm when he fought pac in the rematch. but mab was really in trouble in that 11th round when pac hit him with a flush combo. that's why mab resorted to throwing that illegal punch at the break to stop the attack or pac would've KD'd him.
