I'd love to see Roy win this but like another post said if he does he will probably carry on fighting.
Roy needs to retire... He got me into boxing, and I grew up following his career and have seen just about every fight.... I never imagined he would have 6 defeats on his record, probably 7 after this.
Roy's chin is not so bad(he got hit behind the head and was back on his feet, just try to do that) ... His hands are still fast, stamina is his main problem but Hopkins is a counter-puncher and 45 years old for god's sake... Roy knows this is the fight to get back on top and he will be sharpe he is faster than Hopkins.. Sorry for my english!
yaaaaaaaaall musta forgot about RJJ!!!!!! ****ing hell yeah i'm in wipe that ****ing smug look off hopkins face then retire me boyo!
Roy jones Jr in his PRIME was the real deal,Theres nothing overhyped about him RJJ in his PRIME beats any fighter from 160 to 175 in his Era and in this Era
He should retire,he wont beat Hopkins now.Hopkins let himself down in the first fight he could have done more,i dont think at that time he had the tools to beat Roy but he could have made it close.Roy was a great fighter but that is in the past now and Its Hopkins not Roy who is putting in good fights in the later stages of his career. It would just be a repeat of the Calzaghe fight without the knock down for Roy in round 1.
I'm with the guy who said, "**** it, I'm in". I'd love to see Jones clown Hopkins. The problem is then he'd think he's back and get DESTROYED by whomever was next. I'd still like to see him try to clean up the Tarver and Johnson debacles. If he gets wins over them, even though it's a little late, it'd be satisfying.
... What the hell. I'm in. For this one last fight against Hopkins. I'll be rooting for Roy to re-prove he's Hopkin's master.
I don't know man, he pissed me off in the Calzaghe fight because besides a knockdown he didnt do anything! I hope him the best and really thought retirement was calling him after the Lacy fight. He needs to retire before it's too late.
i agree i want him to retire but i'll support him and be a fan even if he finds til he's ****ing 100. the calzaghe fight was painful and it was obvious he just couldn't pull the trigger. make no mistake, there were openings and he saw them just couldn't do **** about it
