I didn't know Moorer was still working with Roach..... He's a bit of a headcase, I wouldn't fancy getting involved with someone like him to be honest. On a separate note.... does Tommy Brooks still train fighters - or is he heavyweight only?
Moorer said he was worried about him in lead up to Hatton fight. Said he's doing to much...Moorer tried help him out but Manny and co wasn't happy with his presence and he left. Maybe soon Roach will get someone to work the pads and he will just stand back and coach from the other point of view. I know he likes doing the pads it makes him feel active but soon he will need to lighten the workload.
Lockett could not have beaten Pavlik if Pavlik had fought Macklin first, and that stands even if Macklin had won.
Lockett was a massive hitter, a world class puncher. Pavlik has been over several times. To say he had no chance is short sighted.
I heard they were trying to get a Pavlick fight,he has probably done it so his name gets about in the states.
You can't be serious mate i thought Enzo was the only person that really thought Lockett could win. I don't think anyone picked Gary,
Are you for real? He had less than 5% chance in my eyes. Pavlik was a 1/50 shot to win the fight Lockett is ****ing **** always was.
I like macklin but this Pirog fight will really show us where he is at. The blast out of Asikiinen is really hard to judge because it was all done in one round. He looked sharp but what does it really tell. Eclock is nothing to shout and scream about but one fight which impressed me and gives me hope for macklin is the jamie moore fight. If macklin was comfortable at that weight he would have won that fight well instead of gassing. If he beats pirog then I think he has one key that could cause problems for pavlik. He changes levels a lot and if his reflexes are on he can slip under pavlik's shots and dilever powerful shots of his own. Do that and he might get an upset. Tough ask but not impossible.
Macklin has a very clever manager in Brian Peters who has the brains to protect him from any potential short comings with any promoter out there. I agree Gallagher appears to have done a great job with him but being in the USA opens another door for Macklin if nothing else. I have to say though the Pirog fight is a 50/50 and his toughest opponent to date.
How many fighters does Freddie train seriously he has loads of fighters how is he going to have time for Matt I'm not sure if this will be a good move for him. On the top of my head Freddie trains Manny Pacquaio Amir Khan Vanes Maritosyan Bernabe Concepcion Guilermo Rigondeaux Craig McEwan Roman Karmazin Jose Benavides How does he find the time to do work with each of them and then come up with fight plans for each of them?
Good enough to beat Euro champ Ryan Rhodes. Good enough to KO Kevin Kelly who had just been 12 with Dave Reid. Good enough to KO Lee Blundell on a good run of form. Good enough to KO talented Gilbert Eastman in one round. Good enough to knockout durable Allan Gray in two. Micheal Monaghan in three. He was a big hitter and would have done better with the right mentality. Kelly pavlik is ok, perhaps he is one of the greatest fighters you have ever seen, i don't know- but he's not that much better then our lot.
