Thanks for posting. I saw this a long while back and still not sure on some of his methods but his love and enthusiasm is what the sports all about. Some of the methods i feel are worth using but some i think are more effort then worth doing. Legend of a trainer though and the fighters he had shows his work was genius.
I about 10 years ago a read a book on a journalist who trained to become a professional boxer and had a couple of fights. He referred to many names from the fight game, but Howard Rainey came across as a diamond.
Yeah that's it, Bloke spent i think a year or so and boxed and done ok and as you say said Howard was quality guy. I think there's a video on youtube of it come to think of it.
Howard Rainey is a legend of British boxing and one of the finest trainers we've ever had- FACT. You don't create as many champion as he has by luck.
Very clever man indeed, Good trainer also!! I had a goos chat with Terry Dunstan a while back and he's been all round the world and been in the ring with all the top guys wether it's sparring or fighting and he still stands by that Howard is the best!! :good
Yes - This book stirs lots of memories. I remember sitting by the pool in Zante I was reading the above book, and my Mrs had her Jackie Collins out. The next thing I noted we were the only ones by the pool in the middle afternoon. We looked to see what was going on and someone said a plane had hit the world trade centre in New York.
