At this point, I don't think Pavlik can beat Cal or Kessler. Pavlik has a better chance against Mundine and Lacy. Lacy before the Calzaghe fight would KO pavlik though.

At least make a few defenses. 3-4 fights ago a whole lot of people didn't even know who he was, no way as soon as he wins the MW title does he need to start jumping up in weight to take on the Champs.

I'm really tired of hearing about Pavlik's chin. The ONLY reason he got hurt in the 2nd round against JT was because he did something stupid and immature. JT threw a really blatant elbow after landing a very solid combination that had little effect. Pavlik responded to the elbow by dropping his hands and sticking his chin out as if to say "**** you JT." The flurry JT threw after Kelly did that would have taken out just about any 160 pound fighter out there today. And hey, At 25 he's entitled to make a few mistakes. I just hope he learned from that one!!

The KD against McKart was really only a technical matter. Bronco landed a shot on Kelly's left shoulded while Kelly was turning away. When Pavlik tried to recover, his gloves brushed the canvass, and the ref ruled it a KD.

That leaves Zuniga who scored a kd in the first round with a solid left hook to the chin.. He is now rated #13 at 168 AHEAD of Sam Soliman and Allan Green. When he fought pavlik he failed to answer the bell for the 10th round, and that was 6 fights ago!

Pavlik may not have the proverbial cast iron jaw, but there sure as hell ain't nothin' wrong with it. His last six opponents have KOed a combined 116 opponents, and Kelly is still undefeated. Just the facts folks!

As far as Kelly competing at 168, I do not think he is ready. To me, it seems like a bit better competition at SMW, and Kelly isn't even in his prime yet. I'd like to see him unify the titles, beat JT in the rematch, and just generally clean out the division before he moves up. When he does move up, which seems inevitable, let him fight a couple 2nd tier guys before he tries on the top dogs. If he is smart about handling everything, and Jack Leow continues to make smart moves with Kelly's careers, it is very likely that we will remember Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik as a strong 3 division champion.

    In short, no.

I could see Kessler exposing his defence (or lack of) big time with his boxing skills. Has a decent enough chin to withstand Pavlik, and more power than Taylor that's for sure. Kessler by KO.

Calzaghe would just pick him apart to late TKO or wide decision. That would be painful to watch.

I think he could beat Andrade and Mundine but not without a struggle.

Froch would be an interesting match up. Pavlik is easily the better boxer and could just outbox Froch to a decision given Froch has a decent chin (against crap opposition, admittedly). Froch can look very sluggish and ordinary at times. The problem is, if Pavlik catches one of Froch's bombs it's good night. Pavlik by decision.
