My opinion on the fight has gone back and forth but I seem to be settling on the idea that Mosley wins in a late round tko. My primary reason for thinking this is because Mayweather just won't know what to expect, and his training cannot prepare him for Mosley. May's best win was against Corrales back in 2001 at 130, fighting only JLC and DLH as legitimate contenders afterwards. Neither of which have the overall ability of a 38 year old Mosley. I very much expect it to be a close fight, I and reckon Mayweather will make Mosley look silly at times, but there won't be enough juice behind those precision punches to prevent an imposing Mosley. Mental and physical exhaustion will leave Mayweather open for a hellacious few hooks from Mosley, enough for a late round TKO. Props to May for signing the fight!
I dont think there will be a knock out, possibly a boring fight and anticlimax but I like to be proven wrong
Mosley will have his moments in the first 2 rounds and the later rounds. He can potentially win up to 3 rounds max out of 12. FMJ is quite slick and isn't small enough to be bullied. With Shane's defense, I don't think he will hit FMJ more than FMJ will hit him.
if floyd doesn't use drugs to numb his hands and enhance his performance mosley ko's him, if he does use the peds then mosley ud.
I cant see mosley winning this one, i just hope he can put some pressure on floyd and make the fight exciting and win some rounds, i think he needs a hard shot to land on floyd early rounds to shake him up a bit, he will probably need a bit of luck to get it, but you never know. However, floyd rarely if ever gets careless
I have little to no doubt Mosley will win. My reasons... 1. I don't think Mosley is in this for the "pay day" like many claim. The man has a chip on his shoulder and is out to prove himself to the world. His will to win will be hard for Floyd to overcome. 2. Speed. Mosley is still extremely quick, not as fast as Floyd but he still has plenty left. 3. Power. We all know Shane can pop. How many 170lb fighters has Floyd stopped? If a fat, slow JMM can land a handful of flush right hands I imagine Mosley will land his fair share aswell. Can Floyd take it? 4. Stamina. Shane will not wilt going down the strech. He will actually still be throwing bombs late as if it's the 3rd round. I just think he will outwork Floyd. 5. Chin. Mosley has alien whiskers, I don't think Floyd has the power to keep him off. 6. Experience. Shane has fought the best of the best his entire career. Mosley will be Floyds toughest challenge ever hands down imo. 7. Size. Mosley has the height / reach advantage and will clearly be the bigger man, 160lb when they step in the ring. 8. Nazim Richardson. I feel this man knows the way to beat Floyd, Shane has the confidence in this guy like he never had with his father. I think he will follow Nazim's game plan / instruction to a T. Is Mosley old? Of course, but Floyd is no spring chicken either. Mosley has been off for over a year, yes. But I also don't think 1 glorified tune-up in 3 years against a fat, slow LW is enough to prepare Floyd for Mosley. If Floyd does win...you will not hear one excuse from this Mosley fan.:bart Mosley late TKO or UD. Flame away!
Shane has a very good chance of beating Floyd,It kind of shocks me see to everyone writing Mosley off so soon,I just want to see what happens When Shane lands flush On Floyd and its bound to happen cause Shane can match Floyd with Speed of his own
I can't see a man who i have seen outboxed by Cotto beating a fighter like FMJ. I expect a very dull one sided victory.
No....not at this stage in his career. Shane's style has changed with age. His fight with Marg was a false indication that Shane has regained his old form of being the busy combination puncher that we saw at the lower weight classes b/c of the style Marg presented who was stationary and there to be hit. In most of Shane's more recent fights Shane is more conservative...more of a counter puncher and more effiecent. If he wants to beat Floyd he has got to be more active with the jab and combination punching to keep Floyd defensive. I think he'll be off a bit due to Floyd's movement and ring generalship. He'll be waiting too much and missing opportunities he otherwise would have capitolized on in the past. I think Early on Shane is going to be more dangerous and has better success until Floyd gets into his rythm, figures out Shane's offense and then anticipates his moves, countering at will and more successfully in the later rounds. UD for Floyd in a semi competitive fight.
