Why are you against Olympic style blood testing?

Nobody is against Olympic style testing.

HOwever, it has to be in the auspices of the appropriate governing body, anbd not as a personal boxing commission.

If NSAC or Texas sport commssion mandates it, then there is no issue. However, if GBP or Mayweather mandates it and testing be done outside the appropriate commission, then issues regarding partiality is raised.

 

think about this for a second..

cycling, yeah you read correct, ****ing cycling, has the strictest testing for ped´s...

but a sport like boxing, where the sole purpose , is to ktfo another human being, there really is slim to none..

No way. This thread would have 4 posts and be forgotten. But because people want to look for reasons to bash Mayweather, they talk. And it's sad because it'd be good for the sport.

 

honestly, probably no because we have no history of cotto trying to get evertything he wants before a fight gets made. yes floyd could have opened it since he is one of boxing's megastar and demanding it in his every fight from now on could have an effect even if we all know that it is just a propaganda.

hell, this episode could even make floyd a truly advocate of olympic drug testing in the future. but one of the better question is, how is an olympic style testing much better than the current standards in the commissions? yes some commissions like NSAC right now does not do random testing. it could be a start if they change this to random and soon we could see the commission's doing blood test if they think it's also necessary or really effective

 

No question Floyd did this to be a dick...but my attitude is just strip the idea from Floyd and hold it on its own.

It's a lot more thorough although probably much more expensive. I think we could get the whole "it costs too much" penny pinching argument.

Wouldn't surprise me if the current drug tests boxing uses are the ones you buy at the corner store for 20 dollars.

I'm not against it... but if you're going to do it make it the official standard of the boxing commissions and do it across the board for every fight and every fighter.

 

just what i said, the current loophole in the standard is the test not being random. i would not be at a panic mode yet so as to require a comprehensive USADA test when the current standards are practically catching people taking illegal substances, chavez jr. was the last high profile boxer that i know. maybe they could start by making a random urinalysis and if they caught more boxers, then we could start taking it to a more higher/drastic level.

 

Drug doping policies should be differentiated from judging ineptitude. Judges are independent of the commission but most Texas judges do not really know how to judge a fight. Fights in texas are as rare as rare in Sahara, which could probably explain why those judges are so inept.

 

EXACTLY! TS believes PBF is above the boxing governing body and PBF could impose whatever he wants and whoever does not like what he IMPOSES is automatically afraid of him! :rofl
