Julio Diaz was given the Title only when he faced Jesus Chavez, and Chavez slipped and threw out his knee in the 2 or 3 RD of their fight.
julio was awarded the win via ****ing bull**** kO even though no punch was landed or noir did a punch cause the injury from the slip/ fall.
It was shown many times over in the replay.

From what I have seen of him (Freitas, Irwin, Angulo) Diaz's defense is his offense. He right there to be hit, and pretty much depends on backing-up his opponent (who are usually too intimidated to fully engage). Corrales wins this one (a no-brainer IMO). And, by the way comparing Diaz to Mayweather or Casamayor is a diservice to those fighters and boxing in general.
