hopkins - jones 2 - whats next for the winner & loser??

Hopkins will never fight anyone bigger than himself if he can help it, after he beats Jones he will try to make a fight with a smaller opponent like Lucian Bute.
As for Jones after he loses I can see him having some fights to please his fans then retiring at the end of the year.

 

Hopkins said in an interview that he wants a SMW belt so he can be a three divion champ, so he will chase a fight with a SMW like Bute, then maybe after that Pwill. Pwill did say that the highest he is willing to go was 168, that was the original reason that the fight fell through.

 

If BHop wins he should no doubt fight Chad Dawson. If he loses then he should fight a final fight to go out on top.

Jones win or lose he should retire. It's sad to see Roy like this. I try to block out the last few years and remember him pre Tarver.

 

In an ideal world, chad dawson for the winner and retirement for the loser.

 

trinidad rematch is probably next for who ever wins

 

If Roy Jones wins: I remember him talking about wanting to fight Mikkel Kessler. If Kessler loses his next fight to Froch, I could see him dropping out and fighting Roy Jones Jr.

If Roy Jones loses: Probably a fight against Glen Johnson or a 4th fight with Tarver.

If Hopkins wins: Hopkins wants a SMW belt so perhaps Bute?

If Hopkins loses: Suicide. I'm not kidding, I think a 2nd loss to Roy Jones Jr would push Hopkins towards ending it all.

 

The winner and the loser should consider retirement! They dont have to prove anything else IMO.:good

I think there is only 2 way a Bute-Hopkins fight can happen.

Either Hopkins accepts to fight Bute in Montreal (which he has refused so far).

Or Bute has to drastically raise his stock in the USA so that the fight can be stage over there.

The fact that this fight is going ahead means anything could be next.. Rjj did nothing to gain a shot at Hopkins outside of beating him 50years ago. He will lose and go crawling to Green for te rematch. Sad thing is Green will prolly go for it again too
