You need to watch fight videos to have a gameplan? Just because he doesn't go over tape, doesn't mean he's not aware of opponents. Shane Mosley has been fighting for like 15 years...he should know his style by now. Interesting how people read into nearly EVERYTHING this guy says. Leave the guy be for fcuk's sake.

I saw the interview where he said that and I never believed it for a second. My thought is he said that to give the impression that he's some kind of fighting genius. He could arguably be considered one, but even a genius would watch tape.

Ok in the old days fighters didn't have the luxury of watching videos, so back then they had to learn to adapt to their opponent styles.

For anyone who has seen Mayweather fight, its clear that opponents find themselves having to adjust to HIS style and not vice-versa. That's what a great defensive fighter can do. They spend the whole fight trying to break down his defense. I don't see why Floyd would need tape.

there's a difference between being educated and being intelligent. when it comes to fighting, ther mayweathers are very intelligent. becareful not show your own lack of it by being too judgmental.

Provide quotes. Based on what you said, you sound like a complete idiot. "Going over the game plan" does not equal "watching fight tape". Be specific.

This is the biggest lot of **** that comes out of Mayweather's mouth. He wouldn't be in the position he is in if he didn't watch fights of his opponents. Any one who believes him is either blinded by the love they have for him or brain dead.

This is like the boxing equivalent of rappers saying they dont write down anything and just remember it, its all bull**** and pointless. To me it doesnt matter if they watch fights or not its the end result in the ring thats important.

And Floyd Sr was attending the Pac-Cotto fight so he is watching him and paying attention whether or not he watches the tapes it doesnt matter cause he is familiar with his style and coming up with a plan. I am sure he does watch tapes but to me the performance in the ring is what matters.

It's "****' because "YOU" don't believe it?? Why do some believe that everyone has the same learning modalities? Since it's acknowledge by reasonably mind people that everyone learns differently, why is it so hard to accept that perhaps he doesn't watch tapes??

In the music world some writers don't physically write down their lyrics. They can improvise as their creating a song. I see Floyd like that. He doesn't watch tapes because he doesn't want to cloud his mind with what he's seen occurs in videos and the fighter comes out different. He wants to be able to adjust and adapt on the fly.

It's called IMPROVISING and it's NOT a new concept and he's NOT the only current fighter who says he doesn't WATCH video of fighters.

Whether you like him or not even the pathetic haters can agree to this. Save for BRAWLING, he pretty much has every punch, feint, draw, ability to fight off of angles, ability to fight forward and backwards and most importantly, defensive tactics in his tool kit. So it's very possible he can easily adapt on the fly to what the fighter is actually doing in the ring.

Long as he's prepared (and NO ONE can question his conditioning) he can easily implement it.
