I'm hoping this fight lasts at least 5 rounds. I watched 5 of DeMarco's last fights, and I don't think this kid should be overlooked as much as he has been.
I'm pretty much torn. It's a fight that's simple to define but difficult to pick. If Valero fights his fight, he takes DeMarco out. If DeMarco weathers the storm, It's in the bag for him. It's just hard to take a good guess as to what happens. I'm leaning towards Valero but took a look at the +/- (+325 for DeMarco) and put money on DeMarco.
I've never seen Valero fight other than on grainy YouTube videos...I am looking forward to seeing this on Showtime. But I think Valero is going to finally get exposed tonight.
Exposed? As it pertains to what? I think everybody knows what his strengths and weaknesses are. I don't think you can expose what everybody already knows.
People know that Valero lacks defense and his power is his strength..but to the general public these both will be displayed tonight. He's going to need his fighting license in the states however, not only in Texas, if he plans to get the big fights he wants and get that desired exposure.
I think the TS is sort of overestimating the general opinion on Valero here at ESB. Pretty much the majority of us are well aware that Valero has a lot of power, limited boxing skills and a decent chin. There are fanboys but those guys never see the light anyways.
I think Valero will win, but it won't be easy. Or maybe it will, but I doubt it. I think Valero will get the KO sometime late and be the first to do it against DeMarco.
Ok ive been watching videos of both fighters for the past 2 days and I noticed that Valero has the upper hand on speed/power but in DeMarcos last fight against Alfaro, we witnessed a disciplined performance for 10 rounds. DeMarco boxed when he had to by giving angles and countering. He also banged when he had to, as soon as he noticed Alfaro was hurt, he jumped on him, however I do think this can be a big mistake against Valero. I dont expect DeMarco to stop Valero but I do see him fighting very intelligently for 12 rounds. Valero's power diminishes as the rounds go by, the only reason he stopped Mosquera was because he was out of gas. DeMarco UD
Your post is very solid and reasonable and in a sense, it's why I felt comfortable betting on DeMarco. DeMarco is the smarter fighter, the more accurate fighter in some regards and easily the more disciplined fighter. Valero on the other hand has more power, more aggressiveness and more big fight experience. Rounds 1-3 are going to be the tell tale signs of the fight. If DeMarco is able to stay within his gameplan whilst in the face of heavy intense enemy fire, he should be able to take a 12 round decision. If he panics and gets baited into a war with Valero, he doesn't see round 5.
