Why is it that Hatton is finished but Cotto isn't?

i heard about the blood stain. the first thought that come to my head when i heard that was " blood test" (DNA). it probably would of been contaminated, but it would of been worth a try. maybe it was cotto's blood. obviously not the first time margarito and his trainer did this. disgusting cheaters.

 

I don't know whether you could ever prove that they did it prior to the Mosley fight. But, by even trying it in that fight, they lost all benefit of the doubt. Regardless, I highly doubt that it was the 1st time they had tried it.

 

it's very hard to believe that they've never done it before. obviously margarito wasn't confident in his own ability to beat shane mosley, which surprises me when he beat cotto, who beat mosley, and cotto questionably at the time was regarded as the next big thing unless margarito cheated against cotto aswell. personally i believe he cheated against cotto aswell.

 

We'll probably never know for sure. But the suspicions are certainly justified.

 

Untrue. I don't rate Cotto particularly highly at all, and I don't understand how you could have arrived at that assumption from my last post. But the fact is he took Manny's punches for 12 rounds, Hatton couldn't take them for 2. And, more importantly, Cotto doesn't blow up like a sperm whale in between fights. He is a professional athlete, and that makes a difference. Sorry, but even though I respect Hatton for always wanting to fight the best, I do not respect his dedication to his profession at all. That's what has shortened his career.

 

Cotto is a far better and disciplined fighter than Hatton, Hatton does not live like a fighter should between fights, and surely that can have a massive effect on the mind and body.

well then mosely has more heart than cotto, although he does have a better chin anyway.

hatton is a spent force..was (am) a fan but yrs of boiling down so much weight between fights has resulted in him being finished.

That's irrelevant bro. I was simply shedding light on the rationale behind why some feel Hatton is finished as well as why some feel Cotto is finished.

Hatton is a Jr WW....Miguel is a WW. I'm sure Hatton couldn't hang with Marg...he's a lot bigger and Hatton is somewhat limited as a fighter. That's not a knock on Ricky.....his style and determination made for a very successful combination. But he'd always have problems with a better boxer.

My whole point was some feel Cotto is more finished based on the long...drawn out beatings he's been taking at the hands of his last 3 opponents. Vs...Ricky who hasn't really taken any beatings aside from mayed a handful of flush shots and one really concussive one thanks to Manny. Floyd's was pretty nasty too....but not compared to Mannys.

 

i understand styles makes fights, but using common sense, you would have to think that margarito must of felt the need to cheat to beat mosley, which puzzles me, because he beat another top regarded fighter who already beat mosley in cotto, so surely if he was going to cheat against mosley, it would be rational to also think he would cheat against the rising star of cotto who was beating fighters one by one including mosley. it's a confidence factor, and it doesn't make sense because he should of been high in confidence after beating someone of cotto's calibre, unless he also cheated against cotto.

 

Hatton suffered Terrible Ko's

It looked like he was Ko'd Twice By Floyd. The chedck left hook Had the Guy stunded sleep walking with his head down and square with full momentum into the Turn Buckle, Then he gets up and eats a Hard left hook that was so Quick he had a Delayed reaction when he fell. Very Very Bad Night and we havent seen anything Like it.

Then

He goes off Fights Pac gets KD a few times and then Gets hit with the hardest Punch Pac probally threw in his entire life in the ring. Not even a real Boxing Punch that was a Im finished my work out so Imma go Strong Like its 10 seconds left in round 12 on the heavy bag type swing, Pac Closed his eyes bit his mouth Piece into two and through that punch connect and would have broke any mans Jaw that dosent eat punches for a living. even still put this guy who defense is his chin to sleep.

Mentally he is gone. Physically he is washed up. He was still an elite so a washedup Hatton is going to look good against Paulie but a prime Ricky Hatton would have finished that fight a whole lot sooner,

Did you expect a war Like Paulie Diaz? A washed up Elite still easily beats the C class fighter. Why you think on No day Diaz can beat JMM a washed up Elite will always TKO or KO the C class. Malinaggi bad example. Cotto fought an A class Fighter. Not an A+ tho but still I was worried when Cotto didnt handle this fight well because I knew he was Ripe for the Pickings for Pac. Hatton isnt completely done hes Just washed up and beating c class is no indicator he will ever beat an A+ fighter if he keep fighting A+ fighters he will be completely finished off soon he should Fight guys like Zab who has Slid
