We know that ideally training camp of a high level fight takes atleast 8 weeks. BHop has a fight on April 3. Mosley has a fight on May 1. How will Nazim divide his time?
Mosley. He has an actual serious fight coming up. Hopkins could have Billy Ray Cyrus in his corner vs Jones and he'd still win at a canter.
He's busy with both, but busier with Hopkins. Richardson is a very cerebral trainer. He probably spent all day watching fights of Roy and fights of Floyd to prepare Hopkins and Shane, respectively, for the best Roy and Floyd possible...breaking down their strengths and weaknesses from their best and worst performances, then forming a game plan for both fighters and splitting the day with them. There are some things they can do together, like running, stretching, light weights, crunches, jumping rope, drills for speed and reflexes, etc, that are custom-made for their own styles. Other things, like sparring, would have to be done separately, of course. For the most part, it would be a fairly easy thing to combine most of their training, except for the things that were fighter specific according to their respective opponents and the different tactics they'd have to employ to be effective against said opponents. Even after a stroke, multi-tasking between 2 major fighters for Richardson isn't a hard thing to do. He's one of the best in the business.
Honestly I think he should focus more on Mosley since his fight is tougher. B-Hop shouldn't have a hard time against "Father Time" Jones.
Both fighters are very intelligent, capable, and experienced. Nazim's is probably assisted by a second so that he can attend to both fighters. However, I agree that Bernard will win his next match and that it is merely a question as to how long will Roy stay on his feet. Shane is engaged in a serious match with one of the best fighters in boxing today and will rely more on his trainer. I don't see him spread thin in any way both fighters are pros and do not need to have their hands held.
Hopkins really trains himself at this point, I think he knows as much as Richardson who is really just more of a consultant and reminder. Mosley on the other hand will depend much more on Nazim in his fight, it goes without saying that he has the bigger challenge, but more then that having Richardson (and Hopkins) in his corner is one of the biggest factors in the fight.
Couldnt agree more on what you said about mosley and i cant believe people dont think that Naz and the Bhop camp could be the X factor in this fight.
