Alvarez was a good fighter at his best for sure, but he's a bit out of place on that list.I think McGuigan was better than him to be honest, arguable though i suppose.
You may have misinterpreted me. I didnt say that he deserved to be there. My point, and its only my opinion, is that when it comes to people being questioned as to the validity of being in the HOF, quite a lot point to mcguigan as,lets say, a prime example of not deserving to be there. I agree with the post above that he must have had friends in high places. As for your question,I think hes a better resume than Len Harvey or jess willard for example but not many more IMO
I completely agree with Tiger Jack Fox. I expect Archer and Marcel to be inducted shortly into the IBHOF. While I don't know that he truly would belong, Satterfield's colorful kill or be killed reputation as a china chinned bomber might eventually allow him to leapfrog a lowered bar. Cocoa Kid belongs. Wonder about Jack Chase. Arguello felt strongly that Escalera should be in Canastota. The inclusion of Len Harvey may pave the way for Nel Tarleton's entry. (Nella recorded over 30 15 round decision wins, a couple of 15th round stoppages, won Lonsdale belts in 1936 and 1945, went out a winner as Commonwealth and BBBofC FW Champion at age 39, and was never stopped in 146 fights, all while competing with a single lung!)
