He didn't exactly look great against Mayorga but was good against Collazo and Margarito. Like I said, performence, not record.
Well they are haters, what do you expect? But to answer your question, No, Mosley ain't what he used to be(his loss against Cotto proves this), but he still a VERY SOLID fighter and is still the top welter right now.
No maybe Pavlik isnt that great. Great fighters can improve mentally and strategically, fighting more calculated, and more intelligently and take advantage of one dimensional opponents such as Pavlik and Margarito by doing so. Evander Holyfield is another very good example of this.
pacfans are saying mosley is old so they can use it as an excuse after the fight but secretly they know hes better then ever.
Forrest had his number. This version of Shane isn't as good as the Mosley who beat De La Hoya. He was also beaten by Cotto before the Mayorga fight only to look great against Margarito. Going further back he didn't look great against Wright first time out only to come back and knock out Vargas. Some of it is due to the opponent but his form can be described as somewehat patchy and inconsistent.
Cant the same be said of Mosley for Oscar?? He beat him in the amatuers and twice as a pro. Did Wright have Mosleys number as well? He beat him twice in a row too. Are you suggesting Cotto is not a good fighter, because he lost to Margarito and Pac? Cotto was undefeated when he fought Mosley, and Shane fought very competitively and well against Cotto, with some thinking Mosley actually won.... In fact I cant think of too many fighters than maybe ODLH that he beat, that were better than Cotto can you?
What? :huh I think you are getting off track and attempting to instigate for the sake of instigating. All this for the simple fact I claimed Mosley probably isn't as good now as he was when he best De La Hoya. And that his form has been somewhat patchy. Stop over analysing. :good
Im not overanalyzing just stating facts. You and a few others are stating something thats not proven, especially when you look at his record and if you followed his career. Mosley was just never the complete heir apparent great fighter that he was claimed to be as he moved up in weight. Even the great Eddie Futch was wrong on that one. That being said he was and is a real solid welterweight that will go to the HOF, but "Sugar" Ray Robinson, or "Sugar" Ray Leonard, he is not.
It's an opinion mate after watching him come back from the Wright defeats to beat Estrada et al.
This isnt the 2000 verison of Shane that beat DLH but this isnt the 2001 verison of Floyd that beat Corrales. Neither at 38 or 33 is spring chicken.
So...forgive me if I've missed something, but you're saying that Mosely's win over Margarito is a better win that his victory over DLH? :huh
