Ali stood a better chance against Joe when he was older and heavier, than when he was younger and not as strong.

If Henry Cooper can put him down, or Chuvalo keeps him on the ropes, then prime Frazier bombs him out.

Well done, all are extraordinary matchups although I do believe Morales would be a little too much for Gomez. Arguello-Sanchez would be very, VERY close and JCC-Pacman would be an all-time classic fight.

Surprising to some but I really believe that Pryor would have big time trouble figuring out Whitaker's style and adapting appropriately. All the other fights would be VERY competitive. Well done. Thanks again for the contribution.

hmm Gomez would be the biggest puncher Morales ever faced and his defense is questionable...but hes a double hard ******* ofc so as a pick for an amazing fight, yeah it would be a war

    The better question is:

Would that KD have happened if we were talkin' 67 Ali ?

I think the fight would eventually degenerate into an all out brawl in which case Morales' superior reach and volume would be decisive. Gomez tended to ignore defense in these sorts of situations and I believe that Morales would get the best of these exchanges over a 12 round fight although Gomez would definitely land the cleaner shots. Tough one, but I think Morales would win a majority of these matchups with Gomez.:yep

Point taken ...ali '67 had the wheels to keep Frazier on the move so that he couldn't close the distance and plant his feet to fire that left hook. On the other side of the coin, I don't believe that '67 Ali's jab had enough pop to keep a prime Frazier off of him for an entire 15 round fight. If a prime Frazier gets on you, you're getting clubbed into submission and I don't think this would be any different for the '67 Ali than it was for the '70-71 Ali.
