There was a time when Boxing News picks were well thought out and worth watching. Things semm to have changed. The "younger, fresher" Scott Lawton to win the Euro title on points, and the "classical" boxing style of Tony Oakey to account for Nathan McIntosh.

This is the Lawton walloped by Thaxton, Khan and Murray .....fresh
and the Oakey who has always been more Ruiz than Leonard. Against a lad who can really bang and only came up short against the excellent Cleverly.

My own considered opinion on these picks

    COMPLETE AND UTTER BOLLOCKS!!!!

TBF most people picked Oakey to win.

I ain't bought BN for ages. I think you can get a more balanced and free approach trawling through the boxing sites and forums...:good

The amateur coverage in BN is not very fair and they could do a lot more to make the paper interactive with the punters with more links to the website...:think

Oakey is a reasonable pick. Lawton is a shocker.

Their demographic is getting smaller with every month.

they are shifting their input into their website, but they are a minnow.

I hope they carry on as we have little or no publications anymore.

    It's Danny McIntosh, not Nathan.

I've never actually bought or read an issue of Boxing News.

I used to have a subscription of Boxing Monthly but it expired and I never bothered to renew it.... even though I felt it was a decent mag.

The articles within BN can't be any worse than boxingnews24.com though..... utter shite that website!

Picking Lawton to beat that guy is silly.

The bookies do the same thing. They know nothing about boxing except Haye Hatton and Khan. They look at his name, Kristyanson and think ''oh, ive never heard of him he must be ****.
