A boxer has to have been retired for 5 years to be eligible.

Given that it's the Hall of FAME - and seemingly very good (rather than great) then yes, definitely.

I still stick by my opinion that Tyson wasn't a great fighter - he had all the talent to be one, but his record doesn't stack up for me, nor does his longevity, which is sadly lacking.

Tyson should be in the hall of fame even if he reitred at 20 years old after the Trevor Berbick fight.

To become the youngest heavyweight champion of all time - and to do it in that destructive manner.

That is enough in itself to be inducted and go down in boxing legend.

    :-(

Your Just going with the Tyson cliches of him being a bully who crumbled when he was stood up too

Buster Doulgas fought hell of a fight - and was hell of a talented fighter

His other 2 major losses to Holyfield and Lewis were against 2 all time great heavyweights in their own right

And the Lewis fight he was well past his best by that stage

Bottom line is - Tyson was a top quality operator - one of the best heavys ever seen.

Any fighter who becomes undisputed world champion with that amount of press and excitment should be in there as far as I'm concerned. He had his moments but still did alot of good for the sport in terms of getting people talking about boxing (way before the leg and ear bite moments too)
