I feel Manny added more dimensions in Wlad's game and he assimilated well and fast, the dimension that concerns to the sense of timing and pacing himself... I don't think Wlad's boxing is dull and such european orthodox style moulded, straight up and pretty tight from the waist-line up in the Henry Maske-Sven Ottke fashion, but he should work his body more and develop his inside game, remember 6'7'' tall Gerry Cooney beat Ken Norton in one in MSG without making use of the jab, right there at arm reach, rotating his torso, absorbing and bombing poor ole Ken in the corner...

If Wlad is cosidered 1 dimensional, the Pre-Ali Foreman was pretty much 1 dimensional too. That version of Foreman KO's Wlad early.

    1. wrong. He used to be very offensive and aggressive, now he is more plotting and calculating. He can fight either way.

2 & 3. Lets be serious. This is the only reason you think he is one-dimensional. Well he is alot taller than most opponents, so it really isn't that natural for him to throw alot of body punches, he almost has to bend over and reach down to do so. It would leave him open as hell for uppercuts. If you watch his old fights he did throw a decent amount of body punches. But what does it matter? He doesn't need them, his jab is more effective.....same with inside fighting.

    4. He has the best footwork in the division....hands down. :deal

Wlad wins by stoppage or murder. Whichever one comes 1st. He could hit Valuev with his eyes closed.

well one could also argue that none of the heavyweights of today could MAKE him do all those things since he could just knock them out with a jab...i also pity him sometimes since hes got no real contender to really test him... i guess he was just a decade too late :?

he's 6'6"...kind of hard to throw a lot of body punches at that height. He uses his height wisely by keeping distance so he doesnt have to really throw that many body punches.

Wlad is not one-dimensional. For a good example of his inside fighting abilities, look up his fight with Monte Barret. He had Monte rolling on the floor six times that night. Every time Monte attempted to tie him up, Wlad would throw killer short left hooks. Really tight hooks since Monte wasn't giving him much space. I'd say when faced against someone close to his height, he has pretty good inside fighting abilities. But hey, if he doesn't have to do it, why should he?

Wlad has the best FOOTWORK in the heavyweight division? Tell that to Eddie Chambers, Chris Byrd, Sultan Ibragimov, Alexander Povetkin, and about 10 others who move much more fluidly than WALD ever has.

You've got to be on acid. Best footwork?? Hell he's a goddamn plodder. His footwork is terrible. Slow, methodical and when he backs up he amost falls at times he's so clumsy. Your problem along with many others is you have only lived through this era and have only seen clips of the great heavyweights in the past. Wlad has no competition to see if he's any good or not. 30 years ago he would not even be top 10. Hell 15 years ago Tyson would have put him away in a round. Do you thinkthat if Tyson ran at him at the beginning of round 1, swarming him and swinging away he would not have gotton through that poor defense of Wlads which is merely keeping that left arm straight out
to keep fighters at bay? Hell Tyson would break that goddamn arm and KO Wlad within two minutes.
    Best footwork my ass.

Ok fine, I over-exaggerated about his footwork.

But Jack, DECENT power......your out of your ****ing mind. He has GREAT power.

And Byrd doesn't have "Fluid Movement" anymore. Watch the Wlad fight if you disagree.
