Makes me laugh how everyone had this 8-4 or in some cases even 10-2.
It was closer than that maybe taylor 2 rounds up max just goes to show how you see a fight through patriotic glasses most times.
Similar to the abraham fight taylor controlled and dominated abraham even more so than froch imo then gassed got sloppy and got ko'd.And I think abraham faced a lesser version of the taylor that froch faced.Taylor was a great boxer he is like the zab judah of the middle/super middle only zab is only good for 4-6 rounds.

The gap was never massive going into the last round. If anything, I had Froch even. He easily won the second half of the fight once he figured Taylor out. Yet again Taylor paid the price for not stepping inside and finishing his opponent when hurt. Had he tried, the names Kelly Pavlik and Carl Froch may not be so widespread. But he didn't, and credit to them for taking advantage of his lapses. Taylor paid the ultimate price for his tentativeness.

I disagree that Taylor ever controlled the Abraham fight. Abraham executed a gameplan right up until the final round. The result was never in any doubt. It would have been a wide Abraham UD, if not for the KO.

That fight made me a Froch fan. I thought he was going to lose for sure - but he dug deep and pulled it out like a champion.

I remember a BBC interview where he admitted he couldn't do anything until Taylor started to gas.

I think the Yanks respect Froch more than us Brits do.

In the end I'm glad Froch was able to finish because I would have hated to see the guy who was clearly beaten win by taking a knee and/or clinching to survive till the final bell.

    WTF?

I'm the last person anyone would accuse of being an American homer (I consider Kessler-Ward to be closer than Taylor-Froch)...Taylor won a comfortable majority of the rounds prior to the 12th against Froch. You think he did better in the Abraham fight? That's....crazy. Watch both fights again, please. Taylor was the clear winner had the Froch fight lasted another minute; and the clear loser had the Abraham fight lasted another minute. That's clearly not patriotic glasses (as I'm not German...or Armenian), that's just objective truth. Maybe you're the one who should examine their eyewear? Not British by chance maybe?

It was a great fight, I watched it with my dad who had basically fell out of love with boxing a few years back and he loved it, afterwards he watched nearly all of the big fights last year.

Think I had it 7-4 or 7-3-1 in favour of Taylor going in to the last round, he was clearly winning but it wasn't the whitewash that a lot of idiots on here were saying directly after the fight.

After the 6th I had Froch winning most of the rounds.

    Great fight to watch.

My Mate had a grand on Froch to win.

He watched it on the internet and the feed went down half way through the last round. When it came back on Froch had a great big grin so he knew he had won!
