From ESPN:

WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has hit back at Joe Calzaghe, labelling the Welshman a "grumpy Victor Meldrew".

Calzaghe called Froch a "spoilt little *****" in an interview published in City AM on Tuesday, continuing a long-standing feud which began when Calzaghe refused Froch's attempts to organise a fight between the two.

"I think Joe's a bit of a strange guy if I'm honest," Froch said to **************. "I don't mean that nastily, but I really think he is a grump. Like a Welsh Victor Meldrew.

"I called him out for two years, closed in on him until he had to vacate or fight me - and we all know which option he took so we'll just leave it at that."

Calzaghe retired from the sport undefeated in 2009, after which he made a much-derided appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. Froch made clear his thoughts on the 37-year-old's dancefloor performance, saying: "If you want to come back and fight me, then get in line.

Fraudzaghe will unretire, beat a few more cans, duck Froch and any other top 168-175lber again and then call himself the GOAT.

Calzaghe is the perfect stylistic antidote to Froch.

But I like Froch. Believe it or not but Calzaghe comes across as a bigger knobhead than The Cobra, which takes some doing.

“They say your personality comes through the art of dance. Well I think his did perfectly. And to think I voted for him too. “ he laughed. "I want my quid back."

“Along with his cherished record that he always blathers on about , that has more question marks on it than The Riddler’s cat suit. Those are the only two subjects he mentions in every single tedious interview. He can only dine out on that record for so long. He needs to turn it in and put on those comfy retirement slippers."

“At the end of the day Joe Calzaghe is yesterday’s news and today’s fish and chip wrappers. It’s sad but true and one day we’ll all be the same– and that’s why I put no value on fame nor the sad people who chase it with every last breath like him.”

“I can only imagine he’ll be starring in Bingo adverts next. “

“Fame is wonderful if you have small children who idolise you, then it’s magic to see their little faces light up. But charity aside, fame amongst grown ups is overated.”

“But back to Joe, I called him out for two years, closed in on him until he had to vacate or fight me – and we all know which option he took so we’ll just leave it at that. “

    Brilliant.

Jeez RJJ put Calzaghe down and so too B-Hop. Froch would have stopped Calzaghe in 3 rounds at the late part of his career.

This is well said by Froch

I am a Calzaghe fan - Joe Calzaghe and Enzo Maccarneelli and Enzo Calzaghe did Welsh Boxing Proud they way from that tiny Newbridge Shack in the Welsh Valleys they dominated World Boxing for so long.

Joe Calzaghe - what a terrific competitor and champion.

The only downer is Joe is and always has been a green eyed jealous bitter sod.

Even Frank Warren said Joe suffered from the green eyed Monster.

If Joe was making £3 million per fight - he would be unhappy because someone like Ricky Hatton was getting £8 million.

Joe needs to put up or shut up.

He is obviously jealous now that Froch time is now in the limelight as WBC World Champion and he is only clinging on to fame by dancing in front of Bruce Forseyth on a game show.

If Froch can beat or even better KO Kessler - than Joe would be totally pissed off.

Because Froch would have bettered or at least equalled Calzaghes best win at Super Middleweight.

Then Calzaghe should fight him - or shut up and **** off back to the valleys and live like a hermit.

But the worse thing Calzaghe can do - is contniue to slag off Froch but instead of coming out of retirment to fight him - signs up for I'm a Celeb Get Me Out of Here instead

Calzaghe is becoming a reality TV *****:lol::lol:

    Brilliant.
