come to think of it, the reason he slated froch was off the mark as he has often said that british boxing gets a raw deal with tv. that we shouldnt have to pay licence fees and then still have to buy fight on top of that. he made no mention of earnings and has gone on record saying hes not assed about cash, just entertaining fights.
The sad thing is - the way Joes ***** mentatlity is these days.............. He is more likely to want to want to settle his difference with Froch over something like: Golf Billards Bowling Darts 4 mile run Pub Quiz Game of Football Game of Tennis Ballroom Dancing He is more than willing to take part in these competitons But he seems like he simply dare not step into a boxing ring again at all costs.
Thing is if and it's big IF cos i don't see it happening at all but if he did take on the Cobra...i see the Cobra stopping him imo. If he does fight him and lose Joe's just gonna say ''if i was in my prime he couldn't live with me...look at who i beat i beat Atg's...he never of stopped me if i was younger. I lost the hunger...i gave him the chance to share the ring with a ATG and one of the greatest fighter's of all time..'' i can see no respect coming Froch's way if he beats Joe..
if froch cant convincingly beat dirrell, what chance would he have against calzaghe? none whatsoever!! :deal
[/quote] Great Post, Spot on, Always annoys me that you never see Joe at ringside for fights except those that his mates are in - Rees etc. A great way for Joe to keep his name out there would be to show his face at some of these super 6 fights and do a few interviews etc. If he is staying retired say so and how he is there to see the next champ etc, or if he is thinking of coming back even more reason to show up - instead I expect he does not even bother watching it on tv and just spurts nonsense when asked about such and such later. **** or get off Joe. Joe wins by wide ud if it happens, even an old Joe has Froch's number me thinks.
Why should he step back in a boxing ring? He is satisfied with his legacy. Just because Froch stands to make more money fighting Calzaghe then anyone else, there is simply no reason for Joe to risk his 46-0. Joe was infinately better then Froch in his prime. A victory, even if the fight were signed tomorrow would be hollow and tainted with past-sell-by date. Froch needs to win the super six and forget about Joe Calzaghe. He is fully capable of surpassing Joe's modest genuine achievements if he stays focussed.
I agree. His career is complete and he is one of the few smart guys to walk away with *Health - Brains - Looks - intact. *Unbeaten - got out just before he was probaly started to go downhill *made several million - for a very comfortable retirement He would be foolish to fight again - it would probaly ruin the perfect legacy and yes- he was alot more naturally talented figher than Nottinghams Froch But I just feel - Calzaghe still feels a bit of discontent He is not talking about Froch like he is retired man who has given it over to the next generation He is talking like they are still active rivals - and he is sticking his beak into Frochs career. Froch I believe has forgot about Calzaghe - knowing they wont fight he has fresh new challenges in his future with the super six and new girlfriend, etc But its Calzaghe mean jealous spiteful outburst that has caused this latest war of words Calzaghe acting the brat - and still acting like he is the Champ NO 1 Either retire gracefully and keep your peace Joe - and accept your time is over Or if you gonna say things slagging off Froch like a rival - then at least back it up by getting back in the ring to fight him Personally I think he should show some class - button his lip - and carve out a career as a Celebrity Game Show Contestant
the only way it would happen is if froch wins the super 6 and then beats bute, calzaghe could be tempted but its never gonna happen as froch will get iced when he comes up against abraham.
