Had a chat with Mat Brooks this morning and brought up the above topic for the 63rd time. However this time finally got some good news. Seems Skys license has been expanded and they will soon have 3 channels. I asked surely this would mean more boxing coverage as even Sky couldn't fill 3 channels with racing 24/7. He replied that although the programming isn't finalised there should be enough gaps that need filling that we will be getting more coverage. Mat says hes been a bit frustrated at the moment as hes getting lots of good stuff from HBO but just doesn't have anywhere to show it. No dates mentioned, a second channel has been in the works for some time but a third has taken me by surprise. Will keep everyone posted as more details become available.
Awesome stuff Leon...keep us informed. Who knows we could see live HBO/Showtime cards on Sky again sometime
One channel will be wall to wall 24hr international racing around the world. i.e Hong Kong, Singapore in the evening, followed by South Africa and England when we are asleep and America mid- late moring / lunch time. Basically that channel will have no room One of the other channels will be for greyhound and harness racing only so again that's going to be hard to put something on before a reasonible time at night. Our hope is the 3rd channel which is Australian horse racing which might have some room at night time after the GG's are done.
The third channel will be used for watching Greyhounds eat horses that couldn't run out of sight in a dust storm
