Calzaghe is a pretty big guy, he's a lot broader and bigger built in the flesh than he looks on tv.
That said, if a boxer chooses to make a certain weight, then do so. If you don't like it, shut up and f**k off to a higher weight division then.

I'm also surprised Kessler has stayed at 12st for so long, he is massive in person. Never heard of any serious weight issues with him either.

Kessler easily looked a division bigger than Calzaghe when they fought. AS you say, he looks huge at the weight.

Kessler's pretty ripped, and muscle is heavier than body fat, his shoulders are as wide as a door and he's about 6'1 or so. If I was just to look at him without knowing anything of him, I would say he was at least a light heavy at the very minimum.

Joe's not particularly muscular, but he also has quite deceptively broad shoulders (though not quite like Kessler), and he's a bit taller than me (I'm about 5'10). I have seen people who seem to be a lot smaller than Joe claim to be heavier than 12st (and I don't mean fatties either - of which I am one, so no offence.)
I can see Joe having to really work to get to 12st, in all fairness. But as I say, if you choose to do it, don't moan about it. You have the option.

Enzo Macarinelli told my mate when I was with him that Calzaghe walks around heavier than him. That was about 2 years ago.

Enzo's not particulalry big or heavy set, just really tall. So I can easily believe that comment.

I can believe this, JC used to do 14st and a bit more out of training...:yep

I always wonder how Eubank managed for so long to make SMW...he was massive at the weight... Scott Harrison was massive at the weight too...:yep

Harrison looked like a light welter! Must have really killed himself making weight.

It was to avoid any real contender.

Yeah, I think he struggled - he could have moved up in weight earlier, but as it is it worked out quite well for him.

    Nonsense.

There were great fights to be made at 168 at Calzaghe knew it.

Tucker Pudwill was coming of a career high win over Kwan Menassah (6-16), Will McIntyre had just overcome future HOFer Jessie Marsh (9-3) and Mger Mrtchyan had just overpowered legit contender Jozsef Balazs (2-3).

These were great fights for Calzaghe and his fans, credit to him for making them.

It wasn't just his hand that lost him his power, but his weight. Compare Eubank Joe to Lacy Joe, and he looks so much bigger and stronger as Eubank Joe.

I see you can't let your hatred of Calzaghe lie. Pudwill was a two week replacement, and Calzaghe dispatched him in a manner that he should have done.
