I know the difference between 'pikies' and travellers. I never mentioned travellers...just the guys who did the awful stuff at York Hall, my comments were only directed at them. I do apologize for any offence that I may have given.

It would be very hard to be a boxing fan without a certain respect for the travelling community and like with any other community or race I take every person on their own merit and do not judge a group by one person or in this case several persons actions.

These scum that had a fight at York Hall deserve alot of flak and give the travellers a very bad name and just back up the negative sterotype.

This is how I understand it. "Gypsy" was originally used to refer to the Romani people, who are descended from Northern India. These days you got mother****ers who can't differentiate between Romani and other travellers including Irish. So they see some Irish travellers and start calling them gypsies too. The **** have Irish travellers got to do with Romani people? Is there some kind of connection? I genuinely don't know man, Icemax, help me out. So anyway, because people just start using that term "gypsy", it now refers to any travellers and not just the Romani people?

And aren't the Romani people mostly living in Eastern Europe anyway? Not many of them in the UK right?
