Good stuff, even with 20% thats still a decent pay day for Mitchell. Huge opportunity for him in this fight.
Looking forward to this fight. Really hoping it will be at Upton Park. But suspect the 02 is a more likely venue. Either way I hope to go to this one.
Brilliant if it was the Boleyn. What's on at the O2 that date? That'll make it clearer if the venue is booked already or not.
Good news and a guaranteed ******* of a fight. Will def invest in a ticket. If it is at 02 I hope it's not a stupid o'clock as it's impossible to get out of.
Am I the only one pissed of that this isn't for the full title? JMM won that title 13 months ago and hasn't defended it once - why hasn't he been stripped?
How much of that 20% (c£100k) will Mitchell actually see? Presumably a fair amount of that will disappear straight to the tax man? What about Jimmy Tibbs and his team - does Mitchell cough up to them out of this £100k or do their costs get covered elsewhere? If he is paying his trainer and team out of this pot for the 8 weeks or so from now to the fight, plus what he loses to the tax-man, he wont be left with a huge amount of the original £100k. Not meaning to dip into the fellas finances or anything its just something that intrigues me.
Hopefully somebody will be able to give us a bit more info on it - I think anything over £40k attracts 40% tax so he is looking at losing a fair bit before we even begin! With possible further deductions for his trainer/team etc the £100,000 will be at least halved very quickly. I know it is an interim world title fight and not yet a full world title fight but I would have thought the lad would be making more money than that out of this. Particularly with it likely being a good sized crowd. Does he pick up any %age of the gate receipts or is what he gets from the purse bids the total of what he receives? As I say, not trying to find out about Mitchells finances or anything just interested to know in general really!
Remember he will get money from sponsorships and possibly a slice of the profits from merchandise sold, tickets he sold etc. Although I am not sure :think
