Agreed but they're fighting now so there really shouldn't be an argument because they are scheduled to fight May 1, 2010 just a few months from now. May did call Shane out in his prime but Mosley wanted bigger money. Shane wanted to fight Floyd in 2007 because he already had fought Vargas twice thain 2006 but DLH had other plans. I'm just glad the fight is signed but it's a shame they couldn't fight in their primes BUT that's better for Floyd because he is better now defensively than in the past and that's an advantage going into this fight. I hope Shane can pull the W but gets it fair n square if the fight goes the distance and not Mosley by KO(possible but still VERY unlikely).

Lightweight Mosley would have beaten Lightweight Mayweather.

I'd slightly favour prime Welterweight Mosley over Mayweather.

At this stage, I'd favour Mayweather over Mosley.

Mayweather hasn't had a fraction of the tough, grueling fights Mosley has.

I have to think if he got clocked by Vernon the way Mosley was, he would have retired for real.

so, Mosley is coming off his second best career win. That could be bad news for Mayweather anyway, if Shane is capable of dragging him into a fire fight. Who knows how hungry Mayweather is to dig himself out of a tough fight. We know Shane can, but Mayweather has been sleeping in silk pajamas for too long.

But Margarito is a big slowish guy with a defense that makes Chris Arreola look like Willie Pep. Mosley didn't have to chase Margarito either. How an older fighter looks against an opponent who can't expose potential losses in reflexes and how they look against fighters who are 10/10 on speed are two different things.

Mosley was undefeated in 2000 pay attention
The next time Floyd called him out Mosley out again after Shane leaping Left hook sent Vargas to a nice quite place i think this was in 06 and shane had a great year I think that same left hook put mayoraga away that year
we got enough inaccurate info in the general forum

It is a shame it didnt happen in their primes, but anyone acting like Mayweather has purposely awaited Mosley to get old is oblivious of the facts. Mosley was busy chasing the big money in Oscar and didnt need Mayweather, which is fair enough. In 2006 when they were finally in the same division and in a place to make the fight he was likely told to step aside by his boss.

BTW dont think Mayweather has improved defensively, I think hes certainly slowed

This is a modern day phenomenon, fighters acting like WWF/WWE jackasses..and it dovetails quite well with the declining popularity
and cheapening of boxing over the years. Great fighters of thew past didn't indulge in this undignified horse****..and even when there was trash talking it was more restrained.
