Cotto is a warrior he would've never stopped. All he wanted to do is survive no matter what the cost. It is the ref and his corner's job to decide when to stop a fight. To the OP, I misunderstood the question at first, but yes I agree that it was bad timing. Pac did let his foot off the gas, waiting for the ref/corner to do something. But when the 12th started, I think he went back to finish him this time because the ref/corner didn't do anything.
My only problem with the stoppage is that it didn't come early enough. It should of been stopped in the 10th. Cotto took alot of unnecessary shots, and was just running trying to survive.
Cotto wasn't gonna make it to the final bell anyways. There was over 2:05 minutes left in the round. This content is protected
I thought the bout could, and possibly should have been stopped a couple rounds earlier. The referee maybe could have let Cotto finish the twelve, but Cotto could have taken a lot more damage in the remaining minutes.
What a ridiculous post. If anything, it should have been stopped earlier. Do you want Cotto to be punchdrunk for a little more fatal glory? C'mon.
Im a big Cotto fan, but in this case, it was highly unlikely that Cotto would have landed anything in those last 2 minutes that would've put Pac out. Cotto barely had the energy to retreat! U think he had the energy to unleash a bomb that KO'd Manny? :nono
WOW, Pacman hate on ESB has no limit.......atsch This is getting more and more ridiculous. He's juiced up, only fight vs old or shot fighters and now he don't deserve the ko over Cotto........:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl. Only on ESB....
Exactly. There was so much time left and the OP still thinks Cotto could've survived the attack of a fighter that was still hungry for a KO. :-( One more of that straight left, Cotto would've been down.
