Man, I can't wait for the next two months to get underway. A ton of great fights to look forward to! I think the next two months of boxing alone should generate a few more hardcore heads fascinated with the sweet science. We are virtually assured at least 3 FOTY candidates over the next 8 weeks. Lol, then on May 1st it really goes down! Now, on to my gripes... WTF is up with Bob Arum, GBP, and these wack as undercards. Namely, I'm talking about this Pac-Clottey card, preceded by Pac-Cotto, Pac-Hatton, and Pac-DLH. Those are just a few off the top of my head. I know this has been bitched about on forums, by boxing scribes, opposing sports (ahem-UFC, GO TONEY!), you name it. But has anyone actually attempted or sat down and tried to devise a logical, attainable tactic to actually voice our collective opinions? I've heard the "boycott" thing before, but that won't actually work. Maybe a face book page, with like 15 thousand members that all take a prewritten email and forward it to each promoter, boxing writer, media outlet,...well you get the point. Hell, we could even come up with the page now right now! I don't know guys... any suggestions? Tweaks to my idea, or one of your own? I am very serious about this, and as I write have become curious. By curious I mean how big can an online "movement" be? If your going to come in here spewing hate just take that **** else where lol.
Problem is WE have gotten so used to buying fights for the main event I don't know that we can reverse that. I agree 100% that for $50 we should be getting better undercard fights. The last good undercard I can remember was in the Cotto vs Margarito fight. I would sign up to a facebook page.
what would be a good name for such a page? The Boxing Voice? Boxing Fans United? I would gladly create such a page and publish its name alongside its intent and purpose. I'll be the first to admit I'm not to good with graphics, facebook, myspace, type of stuff, but I know the basics... Any other suggestions, comments, thoughts? The more the merrier, and hopefully a snowball affect. I actually believe that if we get a few thousand heads at one spot it can begin to make a difference! Thanks for your comment!
