Cotto was not as impressive as some make him out to be at 140, his jaw was very vulnerable at that weight. But each time he was tested he showed courage and talent to come through and win the fight.

I have no doubt that at 140 cotto would have been convincingly beaten by Hatton at the time both were at the weight.

Uh, while I do believe that Cotto is shot at this point and has no business at JMW, I think he would give Hatton a SERIOUS test at 140 when they were both at that weight.

I have to disagree completely. Cotto reached another level in his fighting game after the Mosley fight. What he did against Mosley, I never imagined it possible before watching it. I never thought Cotto could box so briliantly using his jab. I think he reached his boxing peak with his last fight, right before the Margarito bout.

147 lb version of cotto KO'S 140 lb version in 5 rounds IMO. i don't think the 140 lb one would have beaten the likes of mosley, clottey or even quintana

I totally agree and I also think that Cotto gave so much in training and the during the fight with Pac that it was his last hurrah.. He will be slow, laboured and found wanting against Foreman. If he does win, I hope he then retires.

IMO he didn't beat Shane. I had Shane up two rounds but to each is own. He didn't beat Clotty IMO. I had Clottey winning that fight and could have stopped Cotto he he would have tried harder. He stopped fighting after the first knockdown to Pac. Probably never recovered. He got hit with so many shots against Margarito it was like Margarito couldn't miss. Margarito couldn't catch Shane with anything clean yet he couldn't miss cotto if He tried. Now cotto is still one of my favorite but he's starting to look like j Taylor out there.

Although Cotto is my boy, I have to agree with this statement. He's been through alot of **** and doesn't have much left in the tank.

But when he was rocked it wasn't by some featherfisted fighters, you have to keep that in mind. Torres has got some power, and Corley is no joke either; had Floyd hurt in their fight

What a joke. Cotto was robotic and crankish with his punches back then. His speed and fluidity did not become remarkable until the night he fought Shane Mosley, for whatever strange reason, and then afterward. Complete horse****. You know nothing about Cotto and the trajectory of his career to even say something like that. He was damn near as fast as Manny ****ing Pacquiao in his last outing. People have the funniest way of disclaiming natural law and actual facts to try and make a point.

Funny, it's always the same guys who make it overtly apparent time and time again that they have a genuine boxing eye. Interesting how that works. ;)

I agree, he should take a good break, he has been damaged by Margo, Yuriman is so bored but there is a reason why he is undefetead, I am going to feel sorry for Cotto losing at the Yankee stadium in front of all his fans but he will lose and after that more people will hate Margo for what he did to Cotto even though it hasnt been proved but I think we all know he was loaded on that night

Cotto is by far the most overrated fighter on this board :-(

I dont think cotto is past his best, he was never elite to begin with....

Sure, he has beaten a lot of good fighters but, i find a few things funny...

Cotto gets credit for beating a "dangerous" "focused" judah, but no one gives floyd mayweather any credit for beating judah

Cotto gets credit for beating maligini, but hatton dosent get nearly as much credit for it

His best win is mosley, in a very close fight..

His second best win at 147 is clottey, in another very close fight....

Honestly, i never thought cotto to be as great as others did on this board... He has never been the number 1 guy in his division.....

He is a good fighter but not great... I dont think he is shot, his hype train has just fizzled out :good

I think Cotto wins this fight, Just cause he lost Pacquiao dosen't take away that he is an elite fighter and one of the best out there still. Yuri Foreman gets stopped.
