    Patterson's first loss was B.S. (L8 Maxim) in '54.

Patterson's first legit loss was to Johansson (LKOby) in '59. He beat Johansson twice (KO5 in '60 and KO6 in '61).

Patterson was stopped in the first round by Liston twice ('62 and '63).

Patterson was stopped in 12 by Ali in '65.

The decisions vs. Quarry ('67) and Ellis ('68) could have went either way. Patterson and Quarry fought to a draw in their first fight just 4 1/2 months earlier.

He had a strong chance to become the first 3x HW champ had he got the nod vs. Quarry. The Quarry loss was by majority decision (meaning one judge scored it even) and it was part of the WBA tournament.

Patterson got a shot at the winner of the tournament (Ellis) but came up a little bit short on the decision once again.

He would only lose once more, LKOby7 Ali in 1972. Patterson was almost 38. He never fought again.

Patterson had good wins over Durelle KO5, Tommy Jackson W12 and KO10, Moore KO5, London KO11, Machen W12, Cooper KO4, and Bonavena W10 among others.

    Ray Robinson

Floyd Mayweather has the best lead left hook in the history of the sport. Probably.
