I'm sure his team will look into it. He has a team of like 10 people around him over seeing every aspect of his training. If something was wrong they will see it and make changes.
I don't know, I just think that Bute only wanted to play it safe. I don,t recall seeing him tired. I think he just wanted to avoid inside fighting at all cost. to me it was a really lopsided decision, I think Bute's gameplan was too cautious because he could have fought and dominsated inside
Bute looked a little bit nervous from the start. Its obvious his corner had him fearing Berrio's power maybe a little bit more than was necessary and I thought he was being too cautious. Bute had Berrio shook up a couple of times but never really pounced on him. Even in the 11th when he wobbled Berrio solidly, he waiting at least 5-6 seconds to make sure Berrio was very hurt before going in with full offence. I know its a good thing but maybe a little bit of overkill in the caution department. Also if Bute was on the attack and Berrio threw a counter, Bute would stop the attack and go on the defensive even when Berrio's counter was ineffective. In terms of gameplan being so patient worked beautifully especially since it was evident that going into the championship rounds Berrio was getting tired and impatient while Bute was still very sharp. I had it 6-4 going into the 11th because I felt Berrio deserved the benefit of one of the close ones due to his champion status, but orelse I would've had it 7-3. Anyways there was no doubt in my mind that he was going to win the last 2 rounds, so no worries there. As a final statement I'd like to add that Bute has not yet entered his prime and that we will not see a prime Bute before at least 4 more fights and I would say 1 year at least. Mentally he is still quite green and we will see if he will develop the mind and confidence of a champion. Another thing I'd like to add is that its apparent Stephane Larouche is an amazing trainer
I agree Stephane Larouche is a good traininer but amazing... I don'T think so. I think that for Bute to improve, he needs another trainer. It's sad because if he does that, he won't be with a canadian team another. Because, to be with interboxe, you need to be with Stephane. I don't think Interboxe would keep Lucian if, for example, he switched to stewart or Roach.
You are right except the last paragraph..., Pavlik is a great fighter, Mundine too, but Andrade ? Bute beat Andrade all night long..., Berrio beat Andrade too.
Bute finish every fight strong..., he always won round 10-11-12 of every of is fight. I dont think he got stamina issue.
Big name trainers are wastly overrated. I highly doubt guys like Stewart, Roach or McGirt are better then Larouche. They are just hype jobs in my opinion.
Some posts are bizarre.... Bute did what he had to do...he respected Berrio's which is right....he did enough to win most rounds....I dont see any stamina issue...in the 11 th he almost had Berrios's head punched into the 3 seat row....what do you need guys.... Calzaghe...was knocked down 2 times by ordinary fighters???? He is good but not as good as some of you think he is......... Kessler is the best 168. I agree with what the coach Russ Anber said on TV yesterday.....Only Kessler would give Bute a real fight..... Anyway Calzaghe just has to proove me wrong nov 3...we will see. Cheers
I agree that Bute doesnt need to go looking for a new 'big name' trainer, definitely not right now. Bute and Larouche has worked very well so far. If it aint broke, dont fix it.
Hahaha...I agree with everything...it's almost as if I had written this myself! I would add however apoint about Bute being overcautious...Bute said after the game that, as expected, Berrio had tried to trick him into thinking that he had hurt him, to make him move in for the kill, only to fall into a trap. :deal
Definitely! Not to mention the fact that Stephane looks after Bute and loves him more than any brought-in trainer ever could! Larouche and Bute have been a team since forever...they are like Enzo and Joe...like Snr and PBF....they are a close team! Let's hear it for Larouche!:happy
Congrats Bute, the new champ from Canada! Good showing, though there is still a lot of work to be done in the gym. :good
