Always a fun game to play. Simply put, what does the heavyweight picture look like throughout modern history if: 1. There is no color line. 2. A fighter can not retire, he must be carried out on his shield, but it is likely that they retire after they lose the belt. (if retired in reality) 3. You must fight the number one ranked contender sometime in a year. 4. no alphabet soup champs, follow the linear arc throughout. 5. Title fights are held to the standards of the times. 12 rounds now, 15 before that, to the finish or multiple rounds before that. :bbb Starting with Sullivan v. Corbett 1892. Corbett 1892-1893 Jackson 1893-1896 Corbett 1896-1897 Fitzsimmons 1897-1898 Corbett 1898-1899 Jeffries 1899-1906 Johnson 1906-1911 Langford 1911-1914 Wills 1914 Langford 1914-1915 Jeannette 1915-1916 Langford 1916 Wills 1916-1920 Dempsey 1920-1925 Tunney 1925-1930 Godfrey 1930-1931 Sharkey 1931-1932 Schmeling 1932-1933 Baer 1933-1935 Braddock 1935-1936 Louis 1936-1949 Charles 1949-1951 Walcott 1951-1952 Marciano 1952-1958 Patterson 1958-1959 Liston 1959-1963 Ali 1963-1967 (sadly still stripped) 1967-1970 Vacant Frazier 1970-1973 Foreman 1973-1974 Ali 1974 -1978 L Spinks 1978 Ali 1978-1979 Holmes 1979-1985 M. Why say Rocky doesnt retire, and till around on Ali?? regardless, Ali would have went on in this alternative timeline. No stripping.
Cus used to give Mike regular hand jobs, to keep him from raping young girls and boys. Everyone knows this.
Tyson attempted to **** at least five men that I know of. They are: Maurice 'Termite' Watkins The drummer from Kool and the Gang The little ginger lad from Diff'rent Strokes Cus D'Amato Ed Moses
A perfect timeline? This content is protected . It would just have been a matter of waiting for Sullivan to get old enough. Corbett would probably not have beaten Jackson prime for prime but again Jackson would have got old first. I think he would have had a good chance of regaining the title from Fitzsimmons given a rematch. This content is protected . One way or another. If Johnson had defended his title against the black dynamite crew one of them would have relieved him of the title before Willard did. Probably Sam Langford. It is possible to imagine the title changing hands a few times but eventualy Harry Wills would have brought order to the heavyweight division as the black dynamite crew got older. This content is protected untill Jack Dempsey came along. He was the best out there for a significant period. I think that Tunney was always going to be the man who seperated Dempsey from the title. Tunney could have been around for a few years but as he got older he could have been taken by Sharkey or Schmeling. If Schmeling had got the decision against Jack Sharkey he would probably have held the title for a few defences and Carnera might never have been champion. I think Baer was always going to bludgeon his way to the title and loose it quickly. Joe Louis should probably have been given a shot at the title after he beat Max Baer in which case he would probably have been the champion in his first 18 months as a pro!

Continued Louis Schmeling I complicates things. Schmeling should have got a shot at the title after this fight which would in efect have been the title on a plate. Conversly Louis might already have had the title and it is possible to imagine Schmeling releiving him of it. Also Schmeling should have been in against Max Baer in place of Jimmy Braddock. If Baer shatters his hand early in the fight against Schmeling he is a cooked goose. So This content is protected ? If Louis stayed on untill sombody retired him then I think Walcott would have done it on the third atempt. Yes seriously. Whatever the case Rocky Marciano would eventualy have become champion. If Marciano stayed on untill sombody beat him he would have got past Floyd Patterson. My best guess is that he would have lost his title to Edie Machen. It is just the way that it would have unfolded. Maybe Patterson wins the title off Machen. Either way Sonny Listons shadow is looming over the division.
If michael spinks tried to unify the belt against pinklon thomas or tim witherspoon, do you see either of them beating him back in 1985-1986.
Cont Obviously Muhamad Ali should not have been releived of the title outside the ring. I think he would still have lost it to either Frazier or Norton and regainsed it. I think the last couple of years of his title reign would have been loped off by either young or Norton at no real loss to his standing. In this scenario nobody has heard of Leon Spinks Larry Holmes is coming one way or another. He is always going to be the key force in the heavyweight division over a long period but he might loose the title and possibly regain it at some point. Either way Spinks relievs him of the title. It is quite possible that Spinks looses the title to Tony Tucker if he defends it against him. Either way Tyson is coming and his career unfolds the same way. This content is protected Either Way Lewis is coming. If Lewis was determined to stay on he could still be a force today but I think that he would have been taken by Wladamir Klitschko by now.
It is just a matter of Johnson being old enough. Eventualy there must come a point where Langford can take him.
I agree. If we wanted to go to 1888 it seems as though Godfrey vs. Jackson would have been, an all fairness, an eliminator. Jackson won this, so it seems as though Sullivan's championship reign would come to an end the following year. Jackson is now Champion and after Kilrain beats Godfrey, Kilrain becomes really the number one guy. Interesting to see a Jackson vs. Kilrain title fight in 1892 or so. I do think that Corbett could beat Jackson on the downside. Lose to Fitz, and then beat Fitz to get it back. Yes. Burns and Hart seem like champions by default. Based on the Hart victory over Johnson, Hart can challange, and lose to Jeffries. Or a rematch can occur and this time Johnson gets the nod. I think in 05-06 Jeffries still beats Johnson. In a rematch Johnson wins in my mind. It is in a rematch that Langford beats Johnson holding on to it until Wills, maybe passing it around a little bit to Jeanatte and losing to Wills first and then regaining it. Yeah. 1915-16 through the war until the early twenties would be the Wills era. Willard and Fulton and the aging BD fighters become defenses. I do see Dempsey taking Wills, however. I don't see Sharkey beating Tunney, I think Tunney would have given his best performance against Sharkey, since he disliked him so much. Maybe Sharkey would have turned in one of his great performances too. Could have been a helluva fight. I like the idea of Tunney losing after a 5-6 year reign to either Godfrey or Schmeling. Yes. He would have done enough to become champ, but would not have had the mind to keep it all that long. I see it that Baer still fights Braddock and Braddock still is the right guy at the right time. I still see Schmeling beating Louis, pre title.
You think there would have been a need for Walcott v. Louis III. especially after the KO? I think in 49 Charles becomes mandatory and Charles goes on to beat Joe Louis. What about Marciano's back and the fact that his style might only give him a few prime years anyway? Machen or Folley are possible candidates to beat Marciano in 57 or so. Machen vs. Liston could then be for the title. Is it possible here that Machen/Folley beats Patterson as a title defense and Floyd misses the championship?
