    Race =/= nationality

    They are the same sometimes, but not intrinsically. If I declared that I had no interest in talking to Israeli media during an interview about Palestinian suffering that might be viewed as closed minded, but not necessarily anti-semitic.

    Because filipino refers to both a nationality and an ethnic group so there is ambiguity? Not sure why YOU'RE confused. If I said "I don't want any American" media would that be racist?

    Not that it really matters since the whole story makes very little sense and I'm not inclined to believe it as written.

    PBFs team should have told those 2 that questions about PAC would not be entertained and let them in.

    blacks have serious race issues, and its not always on them.

    According to Mayweather's publicist that's precisely what they were told. As in many things it's a case of one side's word against another. They say they were singled out and snubbed for being filipino, and she says that they arrived late, after the other TV crews had left, and specifically requested to talk about Pacquiao and drug testing.

    Maybe video will pop up somewhere, but I doubt it. So it'll remain the sort of thing where people pick sides based on the sides they were already on. I will say that if I were Mayweather I wouldn't be jumping at the chance to give an interview to fair and balanced journalist Chino Trinidad:

    Trinidad: ""That guy punches like a Power Puff girl.... (Floyd) You're dead...Who's running scared? Floyd is..."

    Not sure I'd give an interview to that guy either.

    America is a melting pot,,, Where there is hardly a single specimen of the indigenous people left,,, So to say American is to say everyone..... But if for any reason you would believe this isn't profiling, you're confused....

    Thank god it was the Filipinos and not one of those other uncivilzed ethnic groups who riot and burn down their communities when things dont go their way.

    Fine, how bout this. If Eddie Chambers says he doesn't want to do any interviews with German media is he also a racist?

    The point with America is precisely the point that I'm trying to make, however. Nationality does not imply race, and vice versa. Xenophobia and racism are not the same thing. Were it, say, a fililpino-american commentator from ESPN or a sympathetic network do you think he would have still denied an interview?

    This is all assuming that this actually happened, and happened as stated, which is far from established.
